“Yes?”

“Can we go again?”

I can’t help the laugh that bubbles up. “You didn’t think that was all, now, did you?” I raise a brow. “We still need you on your hands and knees.”

Her jaw tics at my words before a wide smile blooms on her lips.

She stays where she is, lying there, being so perfect.

A knock comes on the door, and I know who it is before he even speaks.

“Company, boss.”

She gets up slowly, covering herself with the blanket.

Standing, I dress quickly and when I look back, she hasn’t moved.

“I think I should go,” she says in a shy voice, so different from the woman just screaming and writhing beneath me.

“If you must.” I shrug, turn for the door, and leave her there. Entering the main area of the club and spot Kier, Joey, and Lucas sitting at the bar. The club is almost completely empty as it’s getting toward closing time, but the bartender stays behind, serving them drinks as they’re part owners of the club.

I run everything, and everything is done through me, but in this town, you need protection, and that’s exactly what these men are. Keir, the mafia boss, is not someone this city wants to mess with. He is ruthless, cunning, smart, and downright merciless, and so is his family. Joey, Keir’s second in charge, is just as dangerous. And Lucas? He’s known for the dirty work we all know he carries out for the Don.

“This is an unexpected visit,” I comment as I step to the other side of the bar. “You can go. Close up and let yourself out,” I direct the bartender.

He nods and takes his leave, while I finish making their drinks.

“Business brings us here,” Keir states, taking the drink I put in front of him.

“I suspected so,” I reply.

Joey looks at his phone and smiles—his new wife, I suspect. Lucas merely sits there quietly, looking around, not showing any emotion on his face.

“So, how can I help you?”

“A new player has entered the field. He’s been asking around about this place.”

My brows draw together. “And?”

Kier taps his fingers on the counter. “He owns clubs in LA, some in Vegas, and a few other cities. But he’s looking to expand…” He pauses. “Here.”

“What type of clubs?” I ask the question because if it was a normal bar, Keir wouldn’t have an issue. There are other high-profile sex clubs in our area, but they aren’t run as efficiently and effectively as this one. Keir knows of them all, and mine is the one that doesn’t get fucked with, and the reason for that comes back to Keir.

“Playroom,” he says, and I nod my head. I went to a playroom once. “We also heard you know him.”

The door to the back area opens and Oriana steps out.

All eyes go to her.

Lucas leans on the counter and smiles, then looks at me and back to her. Keir just stares, unimpressed.

But it’s Joey who speaks, “Kyler’s wife?”

I grind my teeth at the mention of that asshole’s name. Keir notices and studies me, but my eyes avert to Oriana, who’s hugging herself, unsure what to do.

“Captain will take you home,” I tell her.

“Were you just fucking?” Lucas asks with a smirk. “You can tell me.”

She says nothing, just looks at me.

“Lucas,” Joey warns.

Lucas throws up his hands and turns to me. “Didn’t think you’d go for the good girls. I’m surprised, but how good is she if she’s married?” Lucas says.

“Separated, actually,” Oriana remarks, drawing our eyes to her once again. “I’ll walk myself out, thanks.” She strides past us on her way to the stairs.

“Oriana.” She pauses, not looking back. “Captain will take you. Don’t argue.”

Captain nods and follows her out.

“You fucking the customers now?” Joey asks, and Keir and Lucas wait for me to answer. They know I don’t fuck my girls or my customers.

It’s a rule.

One I never break.

“No, she isn’t a customer.”

“The bogeyman…” I turn to Keir at the mention of his name, “is your brother, correct?”

I nod. There’s no point denying it. Different mothers, same father. He’s younger than me, not by much, and is well-known on the West Coast.

“We respect you, Jake. We have a mutual understanding and run a good business together. I do not extend that to visitors trying to upturn my town. If I were you, I would pass that information along to your brother before I do.” Keir stands, Joey and Lucas follow, then they make for the exit. “One last thing. It’s my wedding anniversary next weekend. You’re coming. Bring a date.”

“What if I have plans?” I say.

“Change them.”

I smirk, and he nods his head before they leave.

A date.

This has me wondering if I can get Oriana to give me a third.

Chapter 18

New job, who dis?

Oriana

On my first day at the new job, my manager proceeded to give me a tour of the company. And when she showed me my desk, she asked about Kyler. Of course. I mean, I knew it was going to happen because it always does. People can’t resist knowing everything there is to know about Kyler, after all, who doesn’t love a rock star. I had hoped perhaps these questions would have come up later, once she got to know me a little more, but no! She asked if we were still together since he had been photographed kissing another woman.
