“I get that, I do. I had to process.” His hands fall from her face, and he guides her inside. Over his shoulder, he says to me, “Welcome back, stoner.” He winks, and I give him my best eye roll. Simone laughs as I grab my bag and head inside. I smile fondly as they both disappear into his room, then I go straight to mine.

I think I need to find somewhere else to live.

I mean, I don’t think my brother would kick me out, but if he’s having a baby with my best friend, I highly doubt they will want me in their space. Unpacking my bag, I see the bags of clothes Jake bought me, and I smile as I pull out the leather bodysuit and remember what I had to do to get that kiss.

Would I do it again? That’s a hell yes. Any day of the week.

That man may hate to be kissed or give kisses, but I cherish every single one I’ve had with him.

And I will take, and take, until I can no longer take any more.

Chapter 31

She was already mine

Jake

“You won.” I lean against the wall outside of my club as Kyler stands there with two bodyguards flanking him. It’s late, but obviously he had something he needed to say to me that couldn’t wait.

“I always win,” I remind him.

He bites back a remark as someone walks past us. Wouldn’t want to ruin his reputation. When it’s all clear he says, “I’ve signed the papers. She’s all yours.”

“The moment my hands touched her, she was mine,” I state.

“Yeah, but one day soon, she will wake up and realize what a mistake that was,” he barks, smiling. “She likes to be good, it’s her personality, and you are anything but. You run a sex club… I know for sure she won’t want to be associated with that.”

“I fucked her in my office at the sex club,” I taunt. “She liked it, a lot, in case you were wondering.” I step closer to him. “You may think she is this perfect little thing, but I want to tell you, that was the box you put her in. She is anything but, and trust me, I know because I’m surrounded by women every day. She may be perfect with her mouth…” I smile cruelly, “but her actions when you make her come are not that of a good girl.”

“She was my wife,” he snarls, and his bodyguards step in to stop him from doing anything stupid, but I don’t even flinch.

“And now she is my whore,” I tell him. “It seems you didn’t know what was good for you. But one person’s trash is always someone else’s treasure.”

A smirk slips across his lips before he spins and walks away. When I turn around, Avani is standing at the door with her arms crossed over one another.

“You gave me away?” she asks, pouting. “You don’t want me to work for you anymore?”

“You were leaving, Avani. Did you forget?” I stalk past her and down the stairs. The door shuts behind us, and I hear her heels clicking as she follows me.

“That’s beside the point,” she replies.

“I told him it was your choice, so did you choose?” I step behind the bar to collect the earnings from tonight’s clients.. When I face her again, she flicks her hair over her shoulder.

“I did.”

“And do you plan to leave me in suspense?” I push.

“Why did you pick me?” she asks.

“Because I know you can handle yourself,” I tell her truthfully.

“Well, yeah, of course I can.” She smiles. “He’s hot, you know. Your brother.”

“He won’t buy you Gucci bags, Avani,” I scoff.

“Of course he will. I requested one for every month I’m there. I learned a thing or two from you, you know. How to get exactly what I want.” She winks.

“So you took him up on his offer?”

She places her hands on her hips and replies, “I did.”

“See? It works out for both of us.” I smile at her. “I’ll give you a nice bonus for your time with me, and you know you are always welcome back.”

She takes a seat at the bar.

“It’s okay to love her, you know,” she says. “The redhead. I see how you are with her. You were always fixated on work, but with her—”

“What?” My forehead wrinkles in confusion.

“You’re fixated on her instead, and it’s nice. I hope one day to have a man look at me the same way you look at her if I’m comfortable enough to get into that situation.” She shrugs her shoulders. “All I’m saying is, it seems you chose well.” With that, she gets up and leaves, and I stand there contemplating her words.

If you had asked me a year ago if something other then my work would be on my mind, I would tell you no. Work is what has driven me for as long as I can remember, yet all I can think about lately is a little redhead who doesn’t know how to say fuck.
