My heart pounds almost painfully in my chest because this isn’t something that I thought I wanted, but that’s the beauty of being with Mark Fierceton. He’s introduced me to so many new things, and I’ve realized that I’m a happier, better person because of it. So I squeeze his hand and smile with tears in my eyes.
“Actually, I think I’d love to become Mrs. Mark Fierceton,” I say in a gentle voice. “That would be a dream come true.”
Mark shoots me a long look, his blue eyes emotional.
“Are you sure, honey?” he asks. “I know it’s a lot to ask of you. You’re a commitment-shy person.”
But I cut him off, shaking my head.
“No, this is what I want too,” I confess in a trembling voice. “To be with you, and to keep growing our family because Mark, I’m pregnant again. We’re going to have number two in about eight months or so.”
My fiancé’s handsome features light up with surprise, but then he growls and wraps me in his arms before peppering my face with kisses.
“Thank you, baby,” he breathes. “That’s the best news ever, and you’re becoming Mrs. Fierceton now for sure.”
I merely laugh and kiss him again because this is a dream come true. Instead of living as an unemployed single mother, instead I’m cared for and cherished by a man who worships the ground I walk on. It’s crazy but only after a lot of stress and struggle was I able to realize how lucky I am to be blessed with such a man. As a result, I’m utterly devoted to Mark, to my son, and to the beautiful family that we’re going to create together.
