Getting Cami a permanent place to live was something Crew needed to work on. Because as soon as he pulled Fletch and Wilder from their undercover assignment—which could be any day now—Fletch would want to sleep in his own bed.

He’d want to share that bed with Wilder, not with Crew and Cami.

It was past time to start looking for a bigger place for the both of them. One with a backyard and maybe even a pool. Between their two salaries, they shouldn’t have a problem finding the right place.

“Or… You can continue to ride with me,” he suggested.

“Or I can get my own.”

“Or you can just ride with me,” he insisted. “How about we compromise? You can ride with me until you get your own. You’ll also need to take a course first. Get your permit. Practice. You don’t just buy a bike, hop on it and go.” Did he sound discouraging? Because he was doing his damnedest to do so.

“I’m aware of that.”

“The truth is, I like having you on the back of my bike. I like having your arms wrapped around me. Is that so bad?”

“Aw. Look at you being sweet and everything. Did that hurt? How’s this for a compromise? I ride with you on club runs. But having my own Harley will also give me the option to ride by myself. Riding isn’t only for pleasure, it’s also a form of transportation.”

“I’m aware of that,” he echoed. “If you buy anything, you really should get a vehicle that will cut it in the snow. The Audi won’t. A Harley definitely will not. One good snowstorm and you’re stranded.”

“Good point.”

“I occasionally have one or two of those.”

Finn approached where they waited in formation, interrupting the conversation he’d had with her several times already. “Hey, we’re going to need that investment from you tomorrow.”

“I’ll get it to you.”

Finn pointed a crooked grin at Cami. “Looking good, Cam-Shaft.”

“You’re looking mighty fine yourself, Prince Harry.”

The woman now had a variety of nicknames like the rest of them. Despite not being an official member of the Blue Avengers.

Yet.

Regardless of the numerous times he’d expressed his displeasure of her getting her own ride, she was determined.

He would lose that battle but, truthfully, it was a loss he could live with. With the two of them having their own bikes, they could take his kids out on long runs as a family.

He was surprised by how fast Dylan and Chloé accepted Cami. Despite the garbage Sasha fed them about their age difference. She continually pressed the fact that Cami was closer in age to Chloé than Crew.

Luis Cabrera took note of that, too. Only he mentioned it once and then let it go. Unlike the Wicked Witch of Western Pennsylvania. She jumped on anything to make his life miserable or make him look bad. While he bit his fucking tongue until it was shredded and bloody.

He was pretty damn sure his kids liked Cami better than their own father.

Maybe she was much cooler than him.

Actually, she was.

But having her in his life was actually helping him reforge his relationship with his children. A result he hadn’t expected. Maybe it was fact the kids could relate to Cami easier than their old man. She was a good bridge between the two generations.

“So, what investment is Finn talking about?” Cami asked as Finn wandered back to his bike and his woman.

“I told you… In Mel’s new club, The Pink Pearl.”

“Oh, you were serious about that?”

“Yeah. It’s a good investment. You don’t mind me becoming a silent partner, right?”

“I’d tell you if I did.”

That was for damn sure. If the woman had an opinion, she did not hold it back.

“If we’re lucky, it’ll put The Peach Pit out of business,” he continued. Even though the Demons were doing that perfectly fine on their own. The Pink Pearl might be the final death blow, if the feds didn’t strike first.

“Indictments and arrests should put that club out of business. Both of them. The feds will probably seize all the businesses they’ve used for selling and distributing meth or laundering money.”

“We can only hope. But we need to get this investigation to the finish line first.”

“The wheels of justice move so fucking slow,” she muttered.

“No shit. We only need those wheels to roll faster than the Russos.” Because Crew expected shit to go sideways any day now. They were trying to tie all the loose ends as fast as possible.

The president of the Blue Avengers jogged over to them. “Hey, where’s Nox?”

Good fucking question. Crew glanced around. “I don’t know.”

“You don’t have him on any kind of special assignment for the task force, do you?” Axel Jamison’s face was a mask of concern.

Crew’s frown mirrored Jamison’s. “No.”

“Wasn’t he supposed to be here?”

“I thought he was. Did you ask Pippi?” Crew asked him.
