“Ember and I are going to derby practice tonight, and then out to eat. Who is my tail today?” I asked when he leaned against the door frame of the bathroom.

“Me.” He said.

“I get the boss man today? What do I owe to this pleasure?” I asked him.

“I wanted to see you in action. You don’t mind do you?”

“No, but I don’t think you will like it. I get knocked around a lot. The girls are pretty vicious.” I said with a smile.

“Well it sure will be interesting. I have to get back to work. Don’t talk to her if she calls back, just hang up and then let me know.” He said as he kissed me softly and then rubbed his nose to mine in a butterfly kiss, and then headed out the door, closing it softly behind him.

I came out of the bathroom and spied my panties that were torn on the floor beside the door. I picked them up and dropped them into the trash can on the way out the door. My cell phone lay neglected on the floor by the door so I scooped it up and texted Ember so I could tell her what had just happened.

Ember: “You have got to be shitting me! I don’t have a problem kicking pregnant ass.”

Me: “That is not what I was getting at! But I guess she is pregnant still. It would make her about 8 months along right now.”

Ember: “She probably has run out of options, and is trying to get Sam to help her now.

Me: “I guess that is possible. But Sam was pretty pissed about the whole thing.”

Ember: “I’ll be there in ten; we can talk more when I get there. Love you.”

Me: “Thank you. See you soon. Love you too.”

Chapter 13

SAM

I watched Cheyenne skate around the track in short stretchy pants and a sparkly black tank top with the team’s name, Bomber’s, on the front, and her derby name, Chey Bye Bye on the back in white letters. I laughed when I saw her shirt. She was the last person I would be scared of, and her name didn’t inspire much scariness either, but it was cute. She had a bright red helmet strapped to her head, and bright red skates (the ones with four wheels), to match.

Cheyenne explained to me that there wasn’t going to be anything too physical today since they didn’t want to hurt their own team members, but there still was quite a bit of hitting and shoving, so who knew how much was in the actual meets. Cheyenne looked like she was dragging a bit; guess I was wearing her ass out with my late night wake up calls.

Cheyenne dodged a vicious elbow from some Amazon that looked like she had seventy pounds on her, and then used the woman’s momentum on her and threw her to the track floor. Cheyenne laughed and then skated on past, passing three other girls and more attacks the whole way.

Ember rolled up to me and stopped, leaning against the padded railing in front of me. She was watching Cheyenne skate as I was doing, smiling when she got a good hit in.

“She enjoys this.” She said nonchalantly.

“Yeah, she looks like she does.” I said back.

“Don’t take it away from her. The way you are looking at her makes me think you want to wrap her up in bubble wrap and keep her from getting hurt. She’s been doing this since she was fifteen. It’s the only thing that keeps her in shape. Don’t want her getting a fat ass do you?” she asked.

“Nope. Don’t want her getting all jiggly on me. Guess I will let her keep doing this as long as she wants to.” I answered. The last thing I cared about was her getting jiggly. I loved her body, and wouldn’t care if she actually put on a little weight. I have always leaned towards thicker women. They are less easy to break.

We sat in companionable silence until Cheyenne rolled up and told me she was ready. She looked even more exhausted up close, but I held my tongue.

“Getting a little slow there Allen. Maybe you should lay off the Bon Bons and Twinkies.” Ember said.

Cheyenne looked at Ember and said “A friend doesn’t go on a diet because you are fat.”

I burst out laughing. That was a good comeback, if anything you couldn’t stay in a bad mood around them for long. Why they fought like this I wouldn’t know. Neither one of them were fat. In fact, Cheyenne had the type of body that would make grown men drool, which I did on occasion.

“Ready to go eat, ladies?” I asked to get them moving.

“Of course, we can’t resist adding junk to the trunk.” Cheyenne said.

They both skated off to their bags, and slipped on some yoga pants over their short ass shorts. I breathed a sigh of relief. I loved looking at Cheyenne’s legs and ass, but I sure as fuck didn’t want other people admiring what was mine.

We arrived at Deacon’s and grabbed a table in the back. The waitress came and gathered our orders, and left. Blaine and Elliott showed up shortly after our drinks, and ordered their own as well. Ten minutes after that, Gabe and Jack arrived as well. It was turning out to be quite a party until the person I least wanted to see today walked through the bar door. Fuck.

“Fuck. Me.” I said under my breath.

Leah spotted us right away and headed over, or more waddled. She was enormously pregnant. I scooted as close to Cheyenne as I could get and wrapped my arm around her waist so she couldn’t spring up and start beating the shit out of her.

“Leah is here. I’m so sorry.” I whispered into her hair.

Cheyenne stiffened, and slowly turned her head in the direction of the door.

“Oh my God! Did you guy’s see that shit? Chey totally looked like that girl on the exorcist when she did that slow turn with her head!” Blaine said pulling out her phone and snapping a picture at the angle of Cheyenne’s neck.
