“At heart, Beautiful, and you like it—Goddamn it. I died.” He looked over his shoulder. “You killed me.”

“How did I kill you?”

“You distracted me and…wait…you did that on purpose, didn’t you? You’re on Theo’s side,” he said playfully, tossing the controller on the table.

“Of course not,” I replied, but then looked at Theo and made a big deal about winking at him.

“I knew it!” Cam groaned, then stood, walked over, and pressed a kiss to my lips. “You guys want a soda?”

It was such a boyfriend thing to do and we were so new that it still threw me sometimes. But I guessed it shouldn’t, since he was my boyfriend and all.

“Yes, please,” Theo said, smiling at me, then pretended to make out with his hand. I flicked him off, then silently cursed myself because I wasn’t sure I was supposed to give the finger to a seventeen-year-old. Cam was rubbing off on me.

Oh, that thought made me blush slightly.

“I’m good,” I finally replied. We’d been…enjoying each other ever since the other night. I’d sucked Cam off every night since, and I was getting better. I also discovered that I really liked giving head. Receiving was fucking awesome too, of course, but it was…empowering, driving Cam wild. And I fucking loved having my ass played with.

He handed a soda to Theo, who opened it right away and immediately sucked the whole thing down. He was a bottomless pit, though I guess I had been at that age too. Mama K had always teased Rush and me about it.

“We need to figure out dinner.” Cam ran his fingers through my hair. I might have groaned deep in my throat, and he winked at me. Fuck, I loved touching him and being touched by him.

“What about Chinese? Do you guys like Chinese? It’s totally my favorite.” Theo’s cheeks turned pink. “I mean, if I’m invited. I didn’t mean to invite myself. You guys probably want alone time or whatever to like… Oh God, not that! To like eat or whatever.”

“I wasn’t thinking that,” Cam said, and I nudged him. “I’m kidding.” He looked down at me. “I’m always thinking that.” Then to Theo. “You’re always invited.”

The appreciation shined brightly in his eyes. God, this kid was so needy for attention, it broke my damn heart.

“Chinese it is.” I stood.

“Wait…what about that place? That other one you guys go to? Fever Pitch on Fever Street? I’ve always wanted to go there.”

If Linc were here, he would say something about Fever Street being the gayest street in the gayborhood, which was likely why Theo wanted to go.

“I’m always down for Fever Pitch,” Cam said, and I nodded.

“Yeah, me too.”

Cam and I grabbed our jackets. Theo seemed okay in his hoodie, even though it was drizzling out, and then we were on our way. The condo was close enough that we could walk, which made it slightly strange that Theo had never been there. Maybe he had, but he just felt different going with us.

As much as I wanted to be there for him, I got a sort of tightness in my chest. I was still figuring stuff out for myself too, and this fear kept clawing at me, that I’d screw up with him…that I’d say or do the wrong thing.

Theo chatted our ears off the whole walk to Fever Pitch, the way he was so good at doing.

Just as we went inside, a lesbian couple walked out, holding hands, and Theo smiled. Then we were seated, and a familiar dark-haired guy approached us.

“What’s up, Keeg? How’s your prince?” Cam asked.

“Oh my God! You’re the guy who’s dating a prince?” Theo asked. “And you guys like, know him? Oh my God. Do you guys know everyone? Do you all like, hang out all the time and stuff?”

Cam and I both chuckled. “Well, it’s not like a thing. We don’t hang out with every LGBTQ person in town, but we do have a large group of friends.” The words settled in my chest, making me feel warm. I liked it, having these guys as friends, belonging with them.

“It’s basically because we’re really fucking cool. Everyone wants to be friends with us,” Cam told him. “And now you’re friends with us too.”

Theo grinned.

“Keegan, this our friend Theo—Theo, this is Keegan, who really is dating a prince,” I introduced them.

“Wow…that’s…wow. Do you have a title?”

“Prince Owen’s Super Hot Boyfriend?” Keegan teased, and we all laughed. “It’s nice to meet you, Theo.” Keegan’s eyes darted between Camden and me, obviously wondering what was going on. “Can I get you guys a drink?”

Cam and I both got water, and Theo ordered another soda. Keegan asked if we were ready to order or needed more time. By now, we basically had the menu memorized, but Theo didn’t, so we asked for a minute. We all ended up getting cheeseburgers with fries.
