The next thing I know, his lips are on mine, and they’re warm and comforting and taste oh so sweet. Our lips part, and his tongue sweeps in, and two fingers turn into two strong hands cupping my jaw. His kiss becomes demanding and heady, and oh my God, this man knows how to kiss.

It’s like he is kissing every cell in my body. Every nerve and fiber dances with pleasure at the sensual, commanding way he moves his mouth over mine.

I groan. Loudly.

Because damn.

The wheels hitting the tarmac barely register, and the rush of the jet engines is nothing compared to the rush I feel inside as he kisses me all through the landing.

It’s not until we’re safely on the ground and taxiing toward the airport that he pulls away and gives me a dark, lustful smile. But he doesn’t say anything. Just sits back in his seat and covers my hand with his.

A hand he doesn’t move even when we’ve stopped, and the seat belt sign turns off.

I turn to look at him, and a pair of midnight-colored eyes gleam back at me.

He grins wickedly. “Need a ride somewhere?”

BROOKE

“Don’t stop,” I beg between hot kisses.

We’re in the back of Mr. Handsome’s limousine, and my thighs are spread on either side of his hips. We’ve been kissing wildly since I climbed in and the partition between us and the driver went up.

Our mouths came together without words in a fierce, uninhibited clash of lips and tongues. His hands slid to my jaw with a groan, and it was all I needed to climb onto his lap and basically dry hump him.

I don’t know what I’m doing, but I know it feels good, and feeling good is exactly what I need right now.

And the way this guy kisses is driving me so crazy with lust I’m beyond stopping to wonder if this is a good idea or not.

“Come back to my place,” he says between kisses.

His hands slide down my back to cup my ass and hold me over the impressive outline behind his zipper. I gasp, feeling his size. Feeling the hardness. He’s big.

With a groan, I deepen the kiss. I deserve this. One night to forget and feel good.

“I want you in my bed, zayka.”

“Then get us there fast,” I moan against his mouth.

His apartment is in Manhattan, and we ride the elevator all the way up to the penthouse suite, kissing desperately.

When the doors part, we fall inside the apartment, and I drag my mouth from his, stunned by the world I’ve just stumbled into.

“Wow!”

Lev’s apartment is the penthouse suite of Sky Tower, a five-star hotel in Manhattan, with sweeping views of the city. It’s like walking into a world of absolute opulence, and I can’t help but stare around me in awe.

Lev laughs and casually removes his suit jacket, discarding it on the sofa as he makes his way to the fully equipped bar. He takes a bottle of Cristal from the glass-front fridge and begins to remove the foil around the cork.

The penthouse is open-plan, every inch declaring itself the best of the best. From the plush lounge suite and expansive dining table to the vast Italian marble floors, million-dollar views, and a gleaming kitchen that any chef would give their right arm to own.

“This place is stunning,” I say.

“I’m pleased you like it.” He holds up the bottle. “Champagne?”

I’m not a hundred percent sure that coming here was a good idea. But I’m desperate to climb out of my existing life and crawl into a new one, and this seems like a good way to start. A one-night stand with a stranger who can make me forget the current dumpster fire that is my life.

And champagne will help.

I watch as he pours the sparkling liquid into two crystal flutes.

“What exactly is it that you do?” I ask him as walks over and he hands it to me.

“This and that,” he replies with frustrating elusiveness. He clinks his glass to mine. “Salut.”

I take a large mouthful, suddenly feeling very out of my depth. But it is quickly forgotten because I’ve never tasted Cristal champagne before, and my taste buds are experiencing nirvana right now.

I stand by one of the floor-to-ceiling windows and gaze out into the warm night. Outside, the city lights twinkle like a billion stars.

“The view is incredible. This far up is like heaven.”

“I thought you didn’t like heights,” he says.

“I’m not afraid of heights. I’m afraid of planes falling out of the sky.”

He chuckles and when he does his face breaks into a devastating smile. All dimples and sparkling eyes.

“What?” I ask.

“Not a lot of people intrigue me, Miss Masters, but you do.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

“As it was intended.”

Looking up at him, I feel my breath leave me when I see the want in his eyes. Like he is going to devour me and enjoy every second of it.
