Britney sang, “All Eyes On Us.” Like anyone in the club would want to look anywhere else. The Sassy Boyz drew the crowd’s attention like magnets, Driver included. The dance was fun and upbeat, the perfect introduction. It gave just a taste of their talent and left the audience begging for more.
Then the music changed and the dance took on a whole new shape. A slower, more sensual melody began and the boys moved serenely across the stage. Driver didn’t know this song, but the singer’s voice was haunting. It was a complete contrast to the opening number, emotional and carnal. Driver found himself leaning forward, drawn in to the dance and the song as if the boys were hypnotizing him. His beer was forgotten, likely piss warm, but he couldn’t care less. Not when the pull was so strong. Everyone in the club disappeared, and Tam was in a spotlight. He danced for Driver alone.
No one else.
In that second, Driver glimpsed time as it stretched out ahead of him, behind him. No longer a lonely road but a brilliant field of flowers. And everywhere he looked, Tam was there. Dancing for him.
