By the end of the day, I’d gotten almost nothing productive done that would earn a paycheck but my little side was delighted, so I decided I was going to count it as a win…because that meant I could justify being done for the day.

My little side thought that was wonderful too, so I bounced out of my office and into the playroom. I couldn’t help smiling when I pictured Daddy climbing out of the fort the other night. He’d looked even bigger wiggling out and frowning, but he’d played and read me books and had done all kinds of other fun things.

Grown-up fun things.

And he hadn’t been embarrassed or worried and he’d been silly.

And he’d given me good kisses.

And he’d made me his bunny.

Oh, I should be his bunny again.

Bouncing the rest of the way into the playroom, I stripped off my grown-up clothes and hopped over to the basket that had my undies.

“Bunny undies for a bunny boy.” Austin found the best undies.

Once I had my outfit on, I bounced around and decided to show Daddy first. “Daddy needs to see his bunny. Then the bunny will get a snack.”

But not anything yucky.

Bunnies liked Chinese food and noodles and bananas and yogurt and… “Oh, bunny needs a bunny salad for dinner. But first…Daddy…” Hmm, where was Daddy? “Oh, where is my phone?”

Yes, that was a better question.

Hopping back to the bunny’s computer, I giggled when I thought about how frustrated Eddie was going to be. He’d fix it fast but he’d still be mad that I got him. “But Daddy wouldn’t be fast…”

Daddy would think I was funny, though.

Daddy liked it when I was happy.

He said I was smart for working with computers and Daddy was smart because he hadn’t asked what I did. I liked not having to lie to Daddy.

Yes, Daddy needed a reward, and laughing was a wonderful reward.

Curling up in my chair, I was amazing and found my phone and my idea all at the same time. “Yep, Daddy was right. I’m so smart.”

I was also very cute as I took a selfie of me making a bunny face. “Daddy won’t be able to resist.”

And really, Daddy was so nice, he wouldn’t be suspicious at all.

“But Daddy needs to smile and not get frustrated, so where is Daddy?” No pranks at work since Daddy didn’t do naughty things for work.

Daddy was a good Daddy and liked rules and contracts, and oh, there he was.

“Oh, Daddy.” He needed to be safer online and on his phone. “That was too easy, Daddy. That wasn’t even a game.”

Yep, Daddy needed to be safer if I could find him that fast.

“Well, if I found you this fast, Daddy, then Eddie would’ve found all your naughty things without even trying.” Yep, Austin didn’t need to worry about Daddy because Daddy didn’t even have a password on his phone and every app he had was sharing his location.

“Oh, Daddy.” Shaking my head, I was glad to see that he was heading to his house, but I was sad that it was so easy to see he was going to his house. “I’ll keep you safe, Daddy.”

He didn’t even have a one-two-three-four password.

Not even his birthday.

“Daddy.” Shaking my head, I told myself I’d make him safer later because it was time to make him laugh now.

Laugh first.

Lecture later.

“Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts.” If Eddie got to roar, then Daddy needed to roar too.

It was too easy making Daddy’s phone roar but making him smile didn’t have to be hard. I’d do something to show him I was really smart later. “Funny now. Smart later.”

My tummy was starting to rumble as I sent the special selfie to Daddy, so as soon as it was off to make magic, I hopped into the kitchen. “Bunny salad for a funny bunny.”

It was going to have the bunny’s favorite foods, so I started with yogurt. The frozen kind, of course, because everyone knew that was the best. Then it got a banana and strawberries from the jar that tasted so yummy on everything. It wasn’t just for ice cream no matter what people tried to say.

“There’s Daddy.” Giggling, I read the happy message that he’d sent back that said I was so cute he couldn’t wait to cuddle his bunny.

But nothing else, so I bounced back to my office and found him again. “Almost home.”

Daddy must’ve looked at his phone when he was stopped at a light, so I knew I had to be patient. But that was hard, so I went back to making my bunny salad.

Bouncing was hard work, so I knew I needed to add a few more things to help the bunny stay strong. “Oh, the bunny needs something crunchy too. Bunnies like crunchy things.”

Decorating it with coconut and tiny chocolate chips that were so cute made it perfect and all done. But I couldn’t bounce back to my computer without making a mess, so I walked very carefully.
