“You’re my miracle,” I say, my voice rough with emotion. “You, Jameson, this new baby… all of it. I didn’t believe in much before I met you, but now? Hell, Ruby, I believe in everything.”

She looks up at me, her eyes shining, and I can tell she feels it too—that connection, that deep, undeniable bond between us. “I love you,” she whispers, leaning in to kiss me again.

I smile against her lips. “I love you too. So much.”

We pull apart just as Jameson starts babbling again, demanding our attention. Ruby laughs, reaching down to scoop him up into her arms, his little body squirming as she holds him close. He’s teething, so he immediately goes for the collar of her shirt, gnawing on it like it’s his favorite toy.

I can’t help but chuckle at the sight. “We’re gonna have your hands full soon.”

Ruby grins, bouncing Jameson gently in her arms. “I’m ready.”

I step closer, wrapping my arm around her waist and resting my chin on her shoulder as I look down at our son. And it hits me again, that feeling of completeness. Of knowing I’ve found everything I ever needed, right here in this little family we’ve built.

“We’re raising our babies among nature and books,” I say quietly, my voice full of promise. “And filled with more love than they’ll know what to do with.”

Ruby leans her head against mine, her voice soft but sure. “That sounds perfect.”

I press a kiss to her temple, feeling the warmth of her, the warmth of our family, and I know this is it. This is everything.

Jameson squirms in Ruby’s arms, letting out a happy little squeal, and I can’t help but laugh as I reach out to ruffle his hair. “This kid’s gonna have a wild ride, isn’t he?”

“Only the best kind,” Ruby says, her smile widening as she looks at me, her eyes filled with love. “And soon, he’s going to have a partner in crime.”

I let out a breath, still a little overwhelmed by the idea. Two kids. Two little miracles.

“You sure you’re ready for this?” Ruby asks, her tone teasing but full of warmth.

I grin, leaning in to kiss her softly, my hand resting on her belly. “Ready? I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life.”

And as we stand there, surrounded by stacks of books and the soft sounds of our son babbling, I know one thing for certain: This is where I’m meant to be. With Ruby. With our family. Building a future that’s as solid and strong as the love we share.

It’s more than I ever thought I’d have, more than I ever thought I deserved. But now that I’ve got it, I’m never letting it go.

Not ever. Ruby and I are built to last. Forever.

The End.
