“Keep calling me that and you’ll not get a cuddle again.”

“It’ll grow on you,” I say after yawning. “It will.”

“It won’t.”

“Yes it will.”

“Willa, it won’t.”

“River, it will.”

He rolls and grips my behind, hauling me closer to him until his lips are so close I can taste his warm breath. “Baby, it won’t.”

Baby.

Oh my.

That’s another thing I’ve never experienced.

“Aww,” I say. “Well look at you being all sweet.”

He growls and releases me.

I snuggle back in with a big smile on my face.

I shouldn’t be enjoying this.

I shouldn’t be relishing in every second with Lake.

I’m not staying here.

I have a life to lead.

But being right here, right now ... it feels good.

Really damned good.

“FUCK,” LAKE GROWLS, his hands tangled into my hair as he uses force to make my head move up and down over his cock.

I woke him up by sliding my mouth over his dick, slowly sucking until he rose from his deep sleep. His cock came to life as quickly as he did, swelling and filling my mouth in a way that makes my lips burn and my throat tight, but oh, I would take it every second of every day. I continue with my torment by sliding my mouth up and down, then releasing him to kiss his shaft. I tease and taunt until he’s groaning, his fingers jerking at my hair so hard it burns, but it only turns me on more.

I close my mouth around his head and suck him deep, opening my throat and taking him in as far as he’ll go. His grunts of delight only spur me on, and I suck with a ferocity I was certain I had forgotten I had. He cums with a wicked growl, filling my throat with his release, and I love every second of it. Mostly I love how his body is so tense and he trembles every single time he pulses.

It's epic.

I finish him off and then sit up, wiping my mouth and giving him a grin. “Morning, River.”

“Fuck, you wake me up like that again and you might just get away with calling me River.”

I beam, pleased with myself.

“This is the part where I tell you I suck at cooking, so if you’re expecting breakfast ...”

He sits up, his gorgeous chest on display. “I cook, I’ll let you get away with that one. Being a criminal and all.”

I toss a pillow at him, and he catches it with a grin.

“Ex-criminal, and you better be careful, I’m not afraid of being locked up. You never know what I could do.”

He snorts. “Babe, you couldn’t hurt a flea.”

He slides out of bed, and I throw another pillow at him.

His hand lashes out and he catches it with little effort, tossing it right back at me before pulling on his shorts. “I’m makin’ coffee, shower and come to me.”

The way he says that.

Heavenly.

I do as he asks, showering and getting myself ready. My body aches in all the right places and I can’t help the silly smile I’m carrying as I walk out into the kitchen. Lake has coffee on the table for not just me, but Ember and Fallon, too. They’re both sitting, chatting to him. He just fits in, no matter where he goes, the man is so easy to talk to. He’s effortless in everything he does.

That’s what I like the most about him.

“You two had a good night then?” Fallon winks at me as I sit down.

“Meh, it was alright.” I grin.

Lake gives me a wicked expression, and I shoot him a smile.

“What’s the plan for today then, boss?” Fallon asks Lake, as she sips her coffee.

“I’ll have to check in with Rhett, see what he’s got planned.”

“Hopefully something nice and relaxing,” I say. “None of this team building rubbish, or a bonding exercise. The only thing I want to be bonded to right now is this coffee.”

I sip it and exhale with delight. Not only can the man fuck, but he knows how to make a good coffee. What more could you ask for?

“I’ve got to get going, horses don’t work themselves and cows don’t move themselves,” Lake says, standing.

“Can I come?” I ask.

Look, it’s not because I truly want to go, it’s because I’m terrified of being left alone with Aaron and I really don’t want to take the risk right now. If I have to tango with that bull again, so be it.

“Me, too,” Fallon says, standing.

Ember looks at the two of us, her face confused. “Are you two ill?”

I laugh. “No, I just came to a ranch so I want to experience all it has to offer.”

She frowns. “Have at it, I’m going to curl back up in bed and read for a while.”

“You two want to come?” Lake asks, staring at us both with a skeptical look on his face.
