“Already taken care of. She might be young but she seems smart.”

“She’d have to be to land the position. But there’s book smart and then…”

“You having second thoughts?” Second and third but it was too late to turn back now. Unless I want Giselle to live the rest of her life like a rat in a cage I have to nip this shit in the bud. I closed my eyes and let my mind stew over the things I’d set in motion for a minute.

While she’d been busy getting herself gussied up I’d been making plans for our return. I’ve given myself no more than a month to deal with the senator. For her sake I’m going to try to handle things discretely, but it’s all up to him how the shit plays out in the end.

Kevin and his team had already started gathering information on both him and Vance going way back. My goal is to take him down without having to involve my woman. But I know there’s no way to keep her entirely out of it because she’s going to be the one he comes after first I have no doubt.

Again I played around with the idea of just ending him before things go any farther, but as yet, even with all he’d done I have no real justification. I could expose him of course, but that would mean dragging her into the mud. And if I break every bone in his body he’d still get back up at some point.

No, a tiger doesn’t waste his time fucking around with a fox. I’ll just wait for him to show his ass then take him out one time. I smiled with satisfaction at my own thoughts and heard Dave and Kev whispering, could feel their stares.

I’ve no doubt Kev had already told Dave about the photos and I’m pretty sure they’d already have their own ideas as to what they’d like to do to him. If she wasn’t part of the equation I’d be on board, but she’s priority number one.

Whatever I do I must ensure there’s no backlash on her. I need to distract his focus from here and bring it onto me and only me. And I also have to keep these two from knowing my true intentions until the time is right.

She slept for most of the seven and a half hour flight, which gave me some time to plot and think. If she wasn’t the one in the middle I would’ve liked to take my time and play with him until he lost his fucking mind. But I’m thinking the sooner I take care of him, the easier her life would be. So I need this shit done yesterday.

She sat up with us for the last leg of the flight and the way Dave and Kev treated her it was as if she was already my wife. Not even Amy, as my fiancée had got that kind of reverence out of these two. Then again they never did agree with my engagement to her. Meddling fucks!

“We’re about to land.” I removed the tray with empty dishes from her lap and passed it to the waiting hostess before buckling her in again. “You look well rested.” I smiled at her, one of our rare moments of ease outside of bed.

Already her color was looking much better than before, and some of the hunted look had left her eyes. I had yet to tell her about our wedding tomorrow though; that might change things.

“Where did you bring me?” I was secretly pleased when she took my hand between hers and turned to me with that disarming smile on her face. “Gibraltar.” Her eyes lit up and she exclaimed her delight in finally getting to see the famous rock up close.

“There’s something else….” I caught the knowing looks on Kev and Dave’s faces and decided to save it for later. Sometimes it sucks, having people around that knows me that well. These two fucks find joy in any discomfort I have and since they know she doesn’t know about the wedding, they’re waiting for the fallout. Assholes!

It was already early evening by the time we disembarked and I took her straight to the hotel.

“How long are we staying here?” She walked to the window of the presidential suite and looked out.

“Originally it was going to be one day but that’s before I knew about your interest in the rock.”

“One day? Why come all this way…”

“We’re headed to Greece after this.”

“Huh?” She looked baffled.

“This is the only place where you don’t need a lengthy waiting period before getting married.”

I stared her down waiting for her to fight me on this. “Married?” The word came out breathless and I saw the panic begin to set in.

“Yes, didn’t I ask you to marry me?”
