She wasn’t even sure exactly what he meant. But part of her really wanted to find out.

“Sleep, my baby.” Damon kissed her forehead. “Stay in bed until one of us gets you up, understand? Little girls aren’t to get out of bed on their own.”

“Be a good Little girl for us,” Grady added, kissing her forehead as well. “Sleep tight.”

Yeah. She was totally a good girl.

Grady glanced up from his laptop as Steele entered the kitchen. “You were in the shower awhile.” His lips quirked with amusement.

“You saying that you didn’t go into your shower to jack off?” Damon grumbled as he moved to the fridge to pull out a bottle of water.

Yeah, Grady couldn’t deny that at all.

Although it hadn’t taken him long to blow his load. Fuck, just the memory of her spread legs as she sat on Steele’s lap was enough to get him hard again.

“Just when I thought I was done, I would feel her squirming against me as you ate her out and I’d get fucking hard again.”

I could’ve helped you with that.

Fuck. This had been building for years. Yet, he wasn’t brave enough to say the words. The one thing he was scared of losing in this life was Damon. And so that was the one thing where he wasn’t willing to take a risk.

“Maybe you should have some Gatorade, replace those lost electrolytes. Don’t want you getting dizzy on me and fainting from dehydration. I also don’t want to have to tell the first responder that you passed out because your balls were empty.”

“Fuck you.” Steele was grinning as he came over to sit next to him. “What are you doing?”

“Buying things for a nursery. There’s a new store in Billings that has things for Littles. I’m gonna order most of it online, but I’m thinking of going in there just in case there’s something I miss.”

Steele straightened. “Yeah?”

“Yes. I’m researching the best things. What do you think about buying her a crib? You can get them with padding around the sides so if she rolls around too much then she won’t hurt herself.”

“I think that’s a fucking great idea.” Steele watched him carefully. “You researching this stuff because that’s a Grady thing to do or for another reason?”

“A Grady thing to do?” he questioned.

“You know what I mean. You do the research. You’re the organizer. The brains. I’m the muscle.”

“You’re the muscle?” Grady asked. “I have fucking muscle.”

Steele ran his gaze over him. “Yeah, you do.”

Grady swallowed. Did he imagine that heat in the other man’s gaze? He had to have, right?

Fuck. He was hard again. Maybe he should have spent longer in the shower.

“I’m doing this because I want Effie to have everything she needs,” Grady said. “Do we need to talk about it beyond that?”

“Not now. But at some stage you might want to think about what you really want. Or she might start to get confused. All I’m saying.”

A beep sounded on his computer and he moved to the cameras. “She’s on the move.”

“What? It hasn’t even been an hour. And I told her to stay put if she woke up.”

“Seems she’s in a mood to be naughty,” Grady said.

“Is she just? Little brat. Where is she?”

“Moving down the stairs.”

“Coming this way?” Steele asked.

“No, she’s headed into your study.” Grady looked up at Damon. “She’s looking at the photos.”

“Uh, time to do some explaining.” Steele squeezed his shoulder as he moved past.

He pretended he didn’t feel that in other parts of his body.

But it was hard.

Very hard.

Steele in the doorway of his home office and watched as his baby moved along the wall of photos. Most of them were of him and Jacqui or him and Grady. Some of the three of them. A few with Spike. And a couple of Spike and Millie.

She stopped at one of him, Grady, and Jacqui from years ago.

“My sister,” he said quietly.

She gasped, turning to him. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to pry.”

She had Slowly in one hand. He walked over to her and took her hand in his.

“It’s not being nosy if I offer up the information.” He pointed to another photo. “That’s Spike. He was married to my sister before she died. His real name is Quillon, but no one else calls him that. That’s his girl, Millie. You’ll meet them at some stage. They’re good people.”

“You kept in contact with him.”

“Yep. He’s quiet. Doesn’t say much. Might scare you to begin with. But you’ll love Millie. She’s . . . quirky. Fun.”

“I’ve been called quirky. Nan used to say that I should act more normal.”

He leaned back against the desk and drew her between his legs. “Nan didn’t know everything. Nothing wrong with quirky.”

“I guess not. You were close to Jacqui, weren’t you?”

“Yeah. She was my world. Her and Grady. Our parents weren’t the best. Not abusive, just neglectful and shitty. I basically raised Jacqui. She was mine, you know?”
