“Sì. Everything is fine. Papà wanted you to come and make sure the chairs were how you wanted them.”
“Ah. Tell him I am on my way.” He glances at Lara one more time and walks out the room. I swear the moment he leaves all the oxygen returns to the space. “Do you need anything else, sweet girl?” His mom asks me as she fixes my veil.
“No. Thank you, mom. I am sure Lara and Julissa have it from here. Thank you so much for everything.” I hug her and try to stop the tears from flowing. It’s nice to have a mother figure put her arms around me and really mean it.
“Thank you for making my son so happy hija.” She kisses me and walks out. Taking a deep breath, I calm myself. Surprisingly enough, other than feeling emotional and anxious, I feel calm. I have heard girls say how they felt so scared and unsure. Or they felt like they didn’t have a choice. They felt forced, pressured, or like they possibly could be making a mistake. I don’t feel any of those things. I feel content, safe, and so fucking happy.
“It’s almost time to get your dress on. Are you ready?” Julissa asks me as she finishes getting her hair done.
“I am more than ready. Have you seen it?” She didn’t go with us dress shopping, so I am not sure if she saw it.
“Yes. My mom showed me this morning while you were getting waxed. It’s beautiful. I love that you went traditional, yet sexy. I especially love the second dress you are going to change into.” I decided that the dress I was going to spend most of the day wearing, shouldn’t be the same one I say my vows in. The party dress should be more a reflection of me. The first one, is a reflection of my new status.
“Knock, Knock. Came to bring the bridal party some champagne.” Manny walks into the room with champagne flutes and though I am sure he really did want to bring us drinks, I am more than sure he wanted to see his wife. They are so stinking cute.
“Lexi, are you ok if I step out for a second?” Julissa asks me as she wraps her arms around Manny’s waist. I can’t help but smile at the obvious love they have for one another. I wonder if Sax and I look like that when we are looking at each other?
“Of course. Lara is here. No worries.” I don’t need both of them in here anyway. Plus, this will give me a chance to talk to Lara about what happened last night when Ramone took her from the club.
“Awesome. Manny and I will go and make sure everything is setup on the beach.” She barely gets out before she closes the door. The minute the door closes and we are alone, I turn to her.
“Mmhmm.” I say crossing my arms.
“What?” Heifer has the nerve to look innocent like I don’t know that there is something she hasn’t told me.
“Spill, bitch. What happened last night?” She turns her back to me, but not before I see her chest turn a crimson shade of red.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing? You expect me to believe that? The heat emitting from the two of you is hot enough to set the Sahara on fire girl. Something happened. Why won’t you tell me?” I can see something is sitting on her and when she gets like that, she gets skittish and starts crying. Fuck! What did that asshole do?
“It-it’s not that I don’t want to tell you, Lexi. I do. I just...I’m not sure yet myself what happened. I haven’t had a chance to process everything yet. I swear though, when I do, you will be the first one I tell. You are my best friend. I would never keep something this important from you. Right now, though, I just want to focus on your big day. Ok?” I can tell she needs me to let this go right now and the truth is, if he did something that is going to piss me off, I'd rather not know about right before I marry his brother. But this is not over. By a long shot.
Knock. Knock.
“Come in.” The wedding coordinator, Saxson’s mom, another lady and Julissa all walk back into the room.
“It’s time to put your dress on, Lexi.” Oh God. It’s time. Why do I suddenly feel sick?

Lexi
“Oh my gosh. I am so happy to meet you, Lexi. When my aunt called me the other day and said that Saxson was getting married, I knew I had to be here. I never thought I would see the day.” I look at her like she is crazy. She is literally bouncing up and down, holding my hands and I still have no idea who the hell she is.
