His hair is damp, and as my gaze slides down his naked body, I can tell he’s just got out of the shower.

“Such a long fucking night.” His words come out on a tired growl, but the smallest smile touches his lips. “Seeing you is the best part of it.”

I smile at his sweet words and lean forward to run my thumb along the stubble on his cheek. “Well, I had a good night getting to know the girls, but seeing you is still the best part.” I press a kiss to his neck. “How about a midnight fuck?”

Dix’s lips curl into a sexy smile that sends heat pulsing through my body as he hooks an arm around my waist and pulls me onto his chest. “We need to talk.”

This sounds serious, so I pull back to look at his face, to see what he’s feeling when he speaks. “What is it?” My heart races. What if he’s changed his mind about us? “Dix?”

When his big hand reaches out to take hold of mine, and he pulls me close, I feel like I’m home. “I want to finish our conversation from yesterday.”

I nod slowly, uneasiness coursing through me. Did he reconsider after whatever happened last night “Okay. You have made up your mind?”

I let my fingertips dance in the silky hairs on his chest.

“I have,” he nods, his voice gruff and full of emotion. “I fucking love you, Valentina. Hell, I might have fallen for you just a little bit back in Costa Rica.”

He smiles and lets go of my hand, running his fingers up and down my hips and waist as if he can’t get enough of me.

“I like what I’m hearing so far.”

His laughter vibrates against my stomach. “Sneaking around with you was hot as fuck, and I hope we never lose that spontaneity. But having you here every fucking day, waking up with you, and falling asleep with you curled against me is so much better. I want that, and greedy fucker that I am, I want it every single day.”

I smile up at him, and my heart is so full it aches. “That is what I want as well, Dix.”

“Good. Because I don’t give a shit that it’s too soon, or that I haven’t taken you out on a real date or anything. None of that fucking matters to me, Val. The only thing I care about is you. Keeping you safe and keeping you here with me. That’s what I want. It’s what’s best for us.”

His fingers tighten on my hips, and he shoves aside the tank top I wore to bed up, pressing a kiss to my bare flesh. “Being with you is what’s best for me, Valentina.”

“Dix.” I whisper his name and blink back the tears gathering behind my eyes. “Who knew my big strong biker had such a way with words?”

He smiles. “I guess loving a good woman can do that to a guy.”

“That’s what I want to be for you, Dix. A good woman. A good wife.” I hold his face because I need to look deep into his gorgeous, soulful eyes. “I want to be your peace at home. I want to take care of you the way I know you will take care of me.”

“I know.”

I can’t help the smile that crosses my face at his assurance, his faith in me. “Dix. The MC is part of this, I know. It’s one big family, and I understand. If you need something from me, just ask.”

“I love the fuck out of you for that, babe.” Dix pushes to his feet, weaving his fingers through my hair. “I love you more than I ever thought possible. We couldn’t be more different, but none of that matters because I love you, and I want you to be my wife. My Valentine. For life.”

One quick blink later and I feel the hot, wet tears sliding down my cheeks. “Dix,” I whisper when he reaches down to his jeans on the floor and produces a ring box. “When did you have time to buy a ring?”

He laughs. “That’s your question?”

I nod. “Well, yes.”

“It was in my pocket when you broke up with me at the Air BnB. It was meant to be a token of my affection, a way to show the cartel princess that I knew what she deserved. Now, it’s a symbol of our future.”

“Yes, Dix. I love you so much.” Our lips crash together, and I kiss him with everything I have, holding his face and devouring his mouth, letting our tongues dance and crash together in our hunger for one another.

Dix pulls back first and his skin is as flushed as mine. His hazel eyes pierce through my soul, and I know, in this moment, what it means to truly love another person with my whole heart.
