I couldn’t tell you where the urge came from, what suddenly made me so bold, and so reckless.

All I knew was that one moment, I was tending to his wounds.

The next, I was sliding both my hands up his thighs, teasing over the front of his shorts, feeling his hardness, then reaching inside to free it.

Up until that moment, I don’t think I had ever initiated something with a man.

And it was extra insane that I wasn’t just going to try to kiss him, but was stroking his thick cock, my thumb tracing over the head, and hearing Donovan hiss at the contact.

Emboldened by his response, my head dipped, and my lips closed around him, making a savage curse escape him as his hips bucked slightly into the sensation as I sucked him deeper into my mouth.

“Fuck,” he hissed, his hand grabbing the back of my neck, not guiding, just holding on as I started to work him.

There was no uncertain fumbling, no feeling weird, or like I was just performing a duty that was expected of me.

I was fully in the moment, spurred on by his ragged breathing, by the way his hand flexed on the back of my neck.

“Fuck, baby,” he hissed, getting closer. “I’m going to…” he started to warn, making me take him a little deeper, so as he came, it was down my throat.

It wasn’t until about five seconds later, as his cock was sliding out of my mouth, that reality came flooding back to me.

What the hell was I doing?

How the heck was I ever going to be able to face this man again?

I had no idea how to untangle myself from the situation.

Blessedly, it was right about then that I heard Triss’s loud laughter coming closer.

Then footsteps on the stairs.

I never moved so fast in my life.

I actually tucked him away when he fumbled with only one good hand, refastened his shorts, then got to my feet, gathering supplies.

“Miss Maeve, I got every single one of those bikers nak—“ she started, trailing off when she flung the door open wide. “Oh, not all of them,” she declared as her gaze fell on Donovan.

“I was helping him change his gauze,” I said, holding up the old stuff as evidence, then rushing off to the bathroom.

I took a long time in there.

Too long.

And when I was done, Donovan was gone.

“He was going to wait, but you were taking forever,” Triss said, making me turn to find her sitting at the desk, reading my book. “Girllll, the inspiration is clear in this new story,” she said, fanning herself with her hand. “You have a crush on Donovannnnn.”

I didn’t try to deny it.

She knew me too well for that.

“He’s hot. I’m kinda sad I didn’t get to see his cock too tonight.”

I was going to go ahead and not tell her that I had.

“Tell me about them,” I said instead, knowing she always liked to tell her stories. “For the site, maybe,” I added.

Though I was pretty sure I was done with the site now. It would be weird to write fan content about people I actually knew.

About someone who I’d let come in my mouth, especially.

I spent hours after Triss fell asleep, trying to stop thinking about the “incident,” and finding myself either super turned-on, or completely humiliated by it.

In the end, I turned back to my book.

And I didn’t stop typing until the sun was already starting to come up.

Then I climbed into bed, glad that I would sleep a good chunk of the day away.

Less hours to worry about potentially running into Donovan again…

CHAPTER SEVEN

Donovan

I was… interested in her.

Even before the shit that went down in the bedroom.

There was just something about her. Her sweetness, her softness. It was something that my life had afforded me very little of.

I hadn’t realized I had been craving it until it was right there in front of me.

She should have been the last woman I was interested in. Someone who didn’t like driving fast or adrenaline-dumping sports.

Inexplicably, though, that was maybe what I liked best about her.

Sure, it would make more sense to be into the no-holds-barred, strip-pong-playing, extroverted sister.

But there was just something about Maeve.

The way she stood back and observed before deciding to become a part of something. How she thought of someone other than herself when she was going to get a plate.

It didn’t help that she was a knockout.

And I wouldn’t say that she didn’t know it. I’d never met a beautiful woman who wasn’t at least somewhat aware of their attractiveness. It was more that her sister’s beauty was louder, so it seemed like Maeve was content to let hers go largely unnoticed.

Then when I’d brought her fresh bedding, she’d been quick to, yet again, offer to do something selfless.

It was hard not to admire that in a person.
