She turned around in his arms and looked up and down his body. “You’re gigantic in your human form, Daddy.”

He chuckled. “You’re gigantic in your wolf form, so that makes us even.”

“Does it bother you?”

“If you’re asking me if your size intimidates me, no. I worry for you, but no matter what form you’re in, you’re still my Baby girl, and you will still submit to me.”

She smiled and threw her arms around him, hugging him tight before twisting to face the keys and playing a lovely piece that calmed her heart. She knew it calmed his, too.

Chapter Fifteen

Felix was holding his Little girl in his arms, reading her a book the next morning when she did that thing again, cocking her head to the side and stiffening. He was learning the signs. Her eyes glazed over as she went somewhere else.

While she was there, she wet her diaper, and it reinforced what he already suspected: his Little girl would need diapers most of the time. She could not control the visions.

He didn’t bother her while she was gone, but he held her close and realized something else. She could really be injured if something like this occurred while she was walking across a room or even standing. She could hit her head or break a bone. It worried him. That’s what he needed—something else to fret over.

Finally, she blinked her eyes and returned to him, beaming. “Leah is coming!”

He smiled. “That’s great, Baby girl.” He quietly lifted her and carried her to the changing table. After cleaning her up, instead of putting a diaper on her, he stood her on her feet, squatted down next to her, and grabbed something new from the shelf.

“What’s that, Daddy?”

“A pullup. It’s more discreet. Maybe you won’t feel as self-conscious with it on.”

She gave him a huge smile and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him tight. “You’re the best Daddy in the whole world.”

He certainly didn’t feel like it lately with so many unknowns he could not control, but at least Khloe thought he was, and that mattered more than anything.

He held the pullup open. “Step in, Little one.”

She giggled as she let him put it on her. It was tighter around her and far less obvious than the diapers he preferred she wear. “Since you will apparently know when people are coming to visit, we can pop into your nursery and change you before they arrive every time.”

She smiled so broadly her eyes crinkled. “That’s perfect.”

He picked her up and settled her on his hip.

She squirmed in his arms. “I can walk, Daddy. You don’t have to carry me everywhere.”

He kissed her temple as they entered the great room. Was she going to balk at his next pronouncement? He stopped at the edge of her playpen and lifted her chin. “For the time being, I don’t want you walking at all, Little one.”

She frowned. “Why, Daddy?”

“Because I’m afraid you might fall and hurt yourself when you have one of your visions.”

She scrunched up her face and thought for a moment before slowly nodding. “I guess you’re right.”

“Thank you for not arguing with Daddy.” He lowered her into the playpen. “On your bottom, please. Absolutely no standing. Not inside or outside the playpen for now. If I catch you standing, you will give me a heart attack, and then I will spank your naughty bottom.”

“Yes, Daddy.” She knew he was right. Until they understood her weird ability better, it wouldn’t be safe for her to stand. She would be much less likely to get hurt if she was on her bottom or hands and knees.

“I’ll order you some more onesies. It’s hard to crawl around efficiently in a dress. Even these short ones. You’ll have more mobility in a onesie.”

“Maybe they have some with a ruffle at the waist that looks like a skirt sort of?”

Damn, she was cute. “Yes, Baby girl. I bet they do.” He leaned over and kissed her. “I’m going to make some snacks for you and Leah.” He reached over to snag a blanket and created a circle around her. “Can you stay right there for a few minutes, Little one?”

“Yes, Daddy. I promise.”

He hated leaving her even to go cut up apples and cheese cubes. What if she fell? But the blanket would protect her, and he was going to have to find a way to manage this new twist.

There was some irony in the fact that he’d always imagined himself having a Little girl who submitted to him far deeper than the other mates. He’d wholeheartedly believed Fate had had a hand in matching him up with Khloe—a Little who so easily submitted to his overprotective nature. But what if it was more than that? What if Fate also knew Khloe would be special and need extra care? That fact was seeming more and more likely by the hour.
