“How can such a little girl be so much work?” Landon asked, grabbing one of Robert’s IPAs from the refrigerator.

“They consume all your time.” Robert went for the trashcan and stopped, lifting the still partially filled bowl to Landon. “Do you want some?”

“No, I’m done.” Landon used a bottle opener to pop the cap, then took a long swig. Robert placed the empty bowls in the sink before going for Landon. His ass hit the counter as Robert slipped in between his parted legs. Robert wrapped his hand around Landon’s holding the bottle, urging Landon to give him some.

“It’s because I didn’t set boundaries with her that she controls so much of my world. Our children will have a schedule to follow. Don’t worry.” Robert’s explanation seemed more of an encouragement, as if Landon might be second-guessing his stance after tonight. He wasn’t at all. His guy had such a nurturing side. He cared for everyone, anticipating and meeting every need. Landon couldn’t wait to watch Robert father their children. He was born to be a family man.

“I’ve been thinking about Stephanie all day,” Landon said and drained the rest of the bottle.

“Me too.” Robert’s lips pressed against his T-shirt covered pec.

“I held Autumn’s little guy. It’s the first time I’ve ever held a newborn like that before. I’m ready.” He brought his hands to Robert’s waist, sliding inside the waistband of his sweats. His skin was soft and warm, exactly what he craved when he reached down each ass cheek.

“I think we should look at anyone Sophia suggests, but I think Stephanie’s the one. If everything holds together, she’s exactly what I want in an egg donor.”

“I liked her too. She seemed very balanced. I messaged Sophia to move forward with her. It’ll take time, but we have time.” Robert pressed against his body and tilted his head for a kiss. They had hoped for a little more time alone before Autumn went into labor. He could no more stop his hands from roaming Robert’s warm skin than he could help breathing and pushed his palms under Robert’s T-shirt.

“Good. Thank you,” Landon said and kissed Robert, lingering over those fleshy lips. Man, he was glad Robert liked kissing, because he did too. After all these years, he could still get lost in Robert’s lips.

“There’s something else. I wasn’t going to tell you for fear I was pushing you too fast, but Sophia’s also found a potential surrogate.”

Landon nodded again, the feeling of things happening quickly did give him a brief moment of anxiety, but with Kylie spending the day with them, Autumn giving him a new nephew, and his true belief things happened for a reason, Landon pushed away the negative worry.

“We’ll need to talk to her. If she works, we’ll have to reserve her time, but she’s in Minneapolis, so there’s that.”

“Good. Then you can watch over her if she gets pregnant.” Landon said the obvious positive. Robert wouldn’t let anything happen to compromise the baby or the mother.

“You give me too much credit. I haven’t practiced medicine in five years,” Robert hedged, running his fingers up a trail to his shoulders then down again.

“You still got it. I like her living close to us, and I like knowing you’re taking care of her. We can be more involved. I was reading about the bonding benefit for us if we go to doctor’s appointments, especially the ultrasounds. It helps with the connecting…”

Robert’s handsome face softened, and he nodded at Landon all doe-eyed, a slow smile spreading. “I’m glad you’re researching and planning.” Those perfectly formed lips puckered again. Landon kissed Robert, this time licking his way between his lips. “If we were alone, I’d show you how pleased I am, right here in the kitchen.”

“Like that’s anything new,” Landon said with a distinct pfft. “I’ve been sucked off in about every inch of this house.”

“Are you complaining?” Robert countered.

“Not at all.”

Robert moved away, going for the refrigerator, pulling out a bottle of water, the small one with a straw for Kylie. “So, tell me about these sleeping arrangements. I spend twelve nights alone, and now we’re in our home and I’m sleeping on an air mattress?”

“Or I can. She just feels more comfortable with you. I can take the guest room.” Landon crossed his fingers, hoping Robert would bite in the direction he led.

“This wasn’t what I’d planned,” Robert said, leaning his hips against the counter beside him, crossing his arms over his chest. “She’s fine sleeping in my guest room in Minneapolis.”

Landon repeated the conversation she’d had with him while getting her car seat from the garage. “No.” He shook his head just like Kylie had done to him. “She thinks of the guest room as her room in your house. She hasn’t been here. She might get scared.”
