I’m sure I won’t be the only one, either. The other guys are watching her, even while they try to look like they’re not. They have a crude way of talking about things, but I’d bet money that last night was special to them, too. They like Brittany a lot more than they’re willing to let on.

Tonight’s venue is the biggest one yet, and we’re doing two shows, only ninety minutes apart. It’s exhausting, but it’s good to have a place to channel all of my pent-up energy. Maybe if I get a heavy workout on stage, I’ll be exhausted enough to fall asleep tonight without aching for Brittany. We’re headed back to the same hotel suite tonight, though I wonder if she’ll opt for the van to avoid all of us.

The audience at our second show does their best to distract me from my thoughts about Brittany. Any time I get close to the edge of the stage, hands grope for me. One of the enthusiastic fans almost trips me accidentally, so I need to be on my toes. There are a lot of nice-looking ladies in the crowd, but my mind keeps circling back to last night and even breakfast this morning, and speculation about the night to come.

The picture line, which was cut short after the first show, seems to drag on forever after the second one. The women in this city are a lot more forward than most of the people who come into Club Red, and my ass gets pinched and slapped several times. There are probably going to be pictures floating around with some very surprised expressions on my face.

I catch Brittany watching us a few times, but she quickly looks away anytime I make eye contact.

When we’re finally back in the van, Jordan and Colin are hyped up from all of the fan attention. They’re loud and restless, barely staying still in their seats for two minutes at a time.

Brittany looks exhausted, but she might just be closing her eyes to try to ignore all of us.

“I’m looking forward to another night in the grand suite,” Jordan says, making the room sound extra fancy. “Wonder if room service runs all night?”

“No room service tonight,” Brittany announces, only cracking one eye open. “There are plenty of snacks in the room, or you can get carryout from the restaurant.”

“Or we can find better things to do than eat,” Colin says.

Brittany’s other eye opens, and she frowns. “The four of you can do whatever you like, as long as you don’t break any tour rules. More rooms were available at the hotel, so Toad and I will be in our own rooms like usual.”

I can’t see Jordan’s and Colin’s faces, so I don’t know how they’re reacting, but Zane is frowning, and so am I.

“No room service. No getting drunk,” Brittany recites. “No nothing.”

Her tone is firm on that last part, and we all know what she’s referring to.

“No talking loud, no staying up late,” Jordan mimics.

“No running with scissors, no talking with your mouth full, no pulling hair,” Colin says.

“Oh my god. I need a drink.” Brittany shakes her head like she’s had far too much of their nonsense, though her eyes give me the impression that she’s thinking about what it would be like to have one of us pull her hair.

OWEN

After tossing and turning for at least half an hour on a bed that somehow isn’t nearly as comfortable as it was last night, I get up to get a glass of water.

Colin and Jordan are watching TV with the sound nearly too low to hear.

“Can’t sleep?” Colin asks.

“Nah.”

“I thought I’d fall asleep in front of the TV, but it’s not happening,” Jordan says.

The three of us are looking at each other, all of us knowing why we’re restless, when Zane walks in from the other bedroom with the same look on his face. “Want to go get a beer?” he asks.

It’s another rule we’re not supposed to break, but fuck it.

The nearest bar is a surprisingly rough-looking place for being downtown next to a nice hotel. It’s packed, though, so we figure it must serve good drinks.

I’d have preferred to stay in the suite and share another bottle of whiskey, drinking until sleep came easily, but I know that if we stayed in the room, we’d just keep thinking about last night with Brittany.

We’re not even in the bar for five minutes when it becomes apparent that the women here are just as aggressive as the ones who were at our show. Maybe some of the same women came here after the show, because the four of us seem to be drawing a lot of attention.

“Hey, handsome.” A soft body presses against my backside just before a small hand squeezes my arm. “Want to buy me a drink?”
