“He didn’t,” Cameron assured him, speaking up to keep Ace out of trouble. “I think she’s just a little overwhelmed, that’s all. It’s her first birthday in years where she’s been free, remember? I don’t think she expected us to go all out like this.”

Konrad and Blakely got Blu under control, and then Konrad and Grey led her over to the table, letting her begin opening her gifts. I leaned into Cameron, resting my head on his shoulder. Immediately, his arm came up, wrapping around me.

“You good?” he murmured.

I nodded. “Tired. And I want a shower. But I don’t want to miss this.”

He hummed. “I’ll make the shower extra good for you later then,” he promised, his voice low and husky as he looked down at me with those dark eyes I loved so much.

I licked my lips. “Oh, yeah? How?”

He leaned in, his warm breath fanning my lips, smelling of coffee and weed, which on anyone else would have smelled horrendous, but on him… it was comforting. It was a scent purely him. “It involves me on my knees with your thick thighs over my shoulders.”

I shivered. Jesus fuck.

“Where’s Arlo?” I asked, trying to change the subject. Cameron’s shoulders shook with silent laughter. It always amused him when I tried to change the subject from sex when I got too worked up in a crowd of people.

“Don’t know,” Cameron told me. “Probably working late. I’m sure he’ll make it up to Blu tomorrow.”

Ace began passing Blu gifts—probably the ones he bought for her since he was so impatient—and I watched as Shaw slipped out of the room, pulling his phone to his ear. Cameron tracked my gaze, his brows furrowing. Standing, he pressed a kiss to my forehead. “Something’s wrong.”

I stood as well, grabbing his hand. “Well, then I’m coming, too.”

He winked at me. “I mean—”

“Cameron, for fuck’s sake,” I hissed. “Can you be serious and stop thinking about sex for two fucking seconds?”

He snickered and led me down the hall Shaw had disappeared down. When we found him, he was in his office, leaning over the desk, the muscle in his jaw ticking furiously. I frowned, suddenly unsure if we should be bothering him. Cameron closed the door behind us once we were in the office, his hard gaze on Shaw.

“Brother, what is it?”

Shaw looked up at Cameron, taking note of the closed door. Then, he growled, “Fucking Arlo got arrested.”
