“Morning, Mimi,” I whispered as I let her go.
“Morning.” Her smile lifted my spirits. “Are you nervous?”
“A little,” I said. She cocked an eyebrow at me. “Okay, a lot.”
“Don’t be,” she said softly. “You’ve got this.”
I nodded to humor her, but I wasn’t sure I agreed.
She seemed to sense that. “I wanted to give you something for luck.”
My mood improved. “A sandwich?”
She grinned. “No… something a little more personal.” She reached for the waistband of my boxers and slid her hand inside.
Holy crap.
Her talented fingers found my cock, which was already rising up to meet her touch. “Mimi, you don’t have to…”
“Shh,” she said. “It’s for luck.”
If I’d known that was how she wished people luck, I would’ve signed up for a test every day this week.
She stroked my cock with her talented fingers until the tip of my erection poked out of the top of the waistband of my boxers. She grinned as she rubbed the precum with her thumb.
Then she got down on her knees.
Shit, fuck, shit. Really? Did she really want to give me this gift right now? One thing was for certain, I wasn’t worrying about the LSAT anymore.
I ran my fingers through her gorgeous hair as she grasped the waistband of my boxers on either side. She looked me in the eye as she started to lower them down.
That’s when someone pounded on the door. Barely a second later, Dominic burst in.
“Dude, what the hell?” He was like a brother to me, but his timing sucked.
“Get dressed,” he hissed frantically. “Get dressed and go back to your rooms.”
“I’m already in my room,” I pointed out as Naomi scrambled to her feet, her cheeks red.
“I’m serious,” Dom said, practically yelling. “Get dressed. Quick!”
“But why?” Naomi asked.
“It’s Evelyn. She decided to surprise us and wish us luck on the test. Hurry, she’s minutes away.”
Naomi’s shocked eyes met mine. “Oh, shit,” she said.
Oh shit indeed.
“Eat up, eat up,” Evelyn urged. “I ordered a little bit of everything from the restaurant because I didn’t know what Naomi liked to eat for breakfast.”
I met Tye’s eye and we both tried not to laugh. Apparently, Evelyn thought that our tiny massage therapist needed enough food to feed an army.
“It’s really, really good,” Naomi said as she set down a croissant. She looked happy to see Dominic’s great aunt even though I selfishly hoped that she was as disappointed as I was that we’d been interrupted this morning.
Evelyn reached over and squeezed poor Naomi’s cheeks, in the way that only an eighty-year-old could get away with. “I’m so glad to see you again, my dear.”
“You too,” Naomi said. “It’s been a fantastic week,” Naomi said.
“I’m glad. Hopefully less drama than at the wedding?”
“Definitely less,” Naomi said, but I noticed she didn’t say there hadn’t been any drama.
“Anyway, eat up, everybody. You boys need fuel to take that exam.”
And just like that, the food in my stomach turned to lead.
Evelyn noticed. “You’ll do fine, Justin. You’ve always been able to do anything you set your mind to.”
That was true, up to a point. But the thing was, I’d never aimed for something as ambitious as admission to law school And besides, all streaks ended at some point. Every baseball player knew that.
“I’ll let you boys—and girl—eat, but I have some news to tell you. It’s not something you have to worry about until next month, but one of your old teammates has planned a huge charity event. It’s an exhibition baseball game. I know how important it is to you boys to give back to the community, so I signed you up for it.”
“You what?” Dominic said, sounding dazed.
“Seriously?” Tye asked.
“Yes, all three of you,” Evelyn beamed. “Won’t it be great to be playing baseball again? I can’t wait to cheer you on. And don’t worry, I made sure your names were officially added to the roster.”
With that pronouncement, she got up and went to the kitchen, leaving the four of us staring at each other in shock.

NAOMI
Three weeks later
I didn’t want to be at my dad’s apartment when the guys called. No way I wanted him poking around while I stared at the faces of the men I missed so much. So instead, I took my laptop to a coffee shop.
As eager as I was to talk to them, I was also nervous as hell. They should’ve gotten their test results today.
I got coffee and snagged a small table in the corner. It was perfect. And they just had to have passed. They’d studied so damn hard, they just had to have passed.
But still, butterflies bounced around my stomach.
To kill the time, I touched up my hair and makeup. We’d talked on the phone multiple times since I flew back from Florida, but this was our first video call.
And then my computer chimed. A new window popped up and there they were, their handsome faces close together to fit on camera.
