“You know he would never admit it out loud, but he might actually like you.”

Fordham made a noise of disbelief. “If you say so.”

“How are you feeling about all this? Reclaiming your throne?”

He buried his head into her neck again and made a few incoherent noises.

“Fordham, we should talk about this.”

“I have you all to myself after months apart,” he said, suddenly standing and taking her with him in his arms. “Maybe we could talk later.”

She laughed but could hardly deny that she was thinking the same. Especially after what had happened in the gardens. They had been this close to being together as part of some twisted spell. This time, she wanted it to be because they were in full control of themselves. No more secrets. No more hiding. No more running.

“I suppose it would be wrong not to use the bed Titania gave to us,” Kerrigan said as he laid her out on it.

She stretched her arms up and let the silk robe split down the middle. Her pale legs spilled out of the slit up to mid-thigh. Fordham’s eyes tracked the movement. His own robe tenting as desire gripped him.

“We wouldn’t want to be rude,” Fordham agreed.

She grabbed him around the neck and crushed their lips together. When he had left her, she had been terrified that she would never see him again. That she would have to marry that oaf to save her people and never know the touch of true love again. Now that he was here with her in this bed, it almost felt unreal. Only days earlier, she had been on the brink of a breakdown with March. She had been willing to do anything to get rid of him. All she’d had to do was trust in her and Fordham, and it had worked out exactly as it always should have.

Tomorrow would bring its own challenges. That was always a certain with them. But tonight was certain.

Their tongues moved against one another as Kerrigan brought her bare legs up around his waist. He growled deep in the back of his throat as their bodies pressed tightly together. She was beyond ready for him, and the hardness pressing against her was all the proof she needed on his part.

“I will never get enough of you,” he said as he trailed kisses down her neck.

“And I you.”

His hand found the tie at her waist and tugged it loose. The silk fell away from her body, baring her before him. His eyes drank her in hungrily. As if one look at her naked body was enough to send him over the edge.

“Gods,” he breathed.

He took his time, running his hands down her sides as he kissed a path across her chest, between her breasts, and down the plane of her stomach. She squirmed as his kisses moved lower.

“Fordham, I …”

But her words were drowned out by the first press of his tongue against her. She gasped. They had just done this in the gardens. She had come undone within seconds, thanks to the magic. And still, it was nothing compared to the two of them with no barriers between them. Just this moment alone in a room with only one bed.

“Oh,” he groaned as he slipped a finger inside of her easily.

Her body was already primed and eager. When another finger followed the first, she suddenly couldn’t think of anything else. Just the sensations he coaxed out of her and the urge to rock her body against him. Everything was so much. Almost too much. Until she shuddered all at once, reaching a crest and crashing against the surf.

She gasped as everything contracted over and over again. “Ford.”

His look was victorious as he slid up her body. “I want you to make those sounds for eternity.”

“Scales,” she muttered, opening her eyes to look up at him.

He settled his hips between her open legs. A hand landed on her hip, making figure eights into her skin as he observed her with the look of a satisfied predator.

“Come here,” she purred.

Then, she kissed him. It didn’t matter that he tasted of her arousal. Only that she needed him in that moment. Needed all of him.

She broke from his lips only long enough to gasp as he thrust forward. Her eyes were wide as they met his. The gray so dark that they were almost black. The need so apparent that it seemed to swallow her whole.

She could barely breathe as he fitted himself to her perfectly. Her body singing with the sweet feel of him.

He laced their fingers together, pushing her hands over her head. Her eyes widened as he withdrew and then pushed back inside of her.

“Oh,” she whispered.

“Yes,” he groaned and did it again.

She was helpless against him. He had always been bigger and stronger than her. She had spent the last year trying to keep up with his extended reach and his added weight and excessive height. Now that he was using all of that extra build to satisfy her body, she found being helpless with him here was the only way to exist. The only place she could let down all of her guards. Where he could use his dominance and that dark energy that always seemed to radiate off of him for her advantage. And she didn’t want him to stop. Not ever.
