Sweat dripped from his hair and his tee shirt stuck to his body as he gave one last wave and walked off the stage. The band followed him down the hall, heading into their dressing room. Surrounding them were their crew, who were pumped from the success of the six-month tour.

They’d started in Europe and ended back in the US, on the West Coast. Normally post-show, they’d debrief and discuss what had gone right or wrong, but tonight, Jagger, the guitarist, Mac, the bassist, and Axel, the drummer, wanted nothing more than to head to the after-party their label was throwing in a hotel suite upstairs.

“Dash, are you showing your face at the after-party tonight?” Mac asked, grabbing his things.

Dash had already packed most of his shit and was ready to leave. They needed to get out of the stadium before the bus was swarmed.

“I wish I wasn’t, but according to Naomi, I need to be at the final event of the tour.” He shook his head, as annoyed now as he’d been when she told him. “But I plan to be on the plane as soon as possible. Anyone joining me?” Linc had sent the jet for a quicker trip home, and Dash intended to be on it.

“I’ll be there,” Axel said. “Tara would have my ass if I didn’t take the fastest route.”

Understanding, Dash chuckled and looked at Jagger.

“Hell no. I’ve got pussy waiting and nobody to rush home to,” their guitarist said.

Dash narrowed his gaze but Jagger didn’t meet it.

“Don’t look at me. I’m with him,” Mac, the bassist, said.

Dash rolled his eyes. “Assholes,” he said good-naturedly. After all, that had been his life BC. Before Cass. “Everyone good to walk out now?” Dash asked.

After muttered affirmations and nods, he swung the door open and tipped his head at their security guard. The bulky man led them to the bus, pushing screaming fans out of the way.

Once on board, Dash sat back in his seat, shutting out the joking and talk of getting laid because the only woman he wanted surrounding his dick was across the damned country. He had an hour before he had to be at the VIP suite in the same hotel where he was staying, so he could lie down for half an hour first.

While the bus made its way to the hotel, Dash tried to FaceTime Cassidy. She didn’t pick up and the call went straight to voice mail, which was unusual. Since their barely there reunion, he’d agreed to wake her after a concert, and she always answered.

The one thing his brief trip had affirmed was her trust. His girl wasn’t jealous, and she believed in him. He might not feel like he deserved her love and faith, but he’d never take them for granted. Still, she knew what he’d been before her. And thanks to the tabloids still pressing the notion of Dash cheating with Peyton, Cassidy had every reason to be upset, even if she claimed not to worry.

The one glimmer of good news was that right after walking off stage, Peyton had signed with her new manager, sent a termination letter to the dirtbag, and hired a top-notch lawyer Dash had recommended. Just in case Russ reacted or she decided to sue the man.

The bus dropped them off at the back entrance of the hotel. The fans had long since realized where to gather, here and not the front, so another bodyguard waited to usher the band to the elevators. He and the guys reached their floor, and they all stepped out, heading to their respective rooms. The bodyguards would keep watch in the hall. Almost over, Dash thought, reaching his room and swiping his card to let himself inside.

The door slammed shut and he strode through the suite, intent on packing the rest of his stuff quickly so when the party ended—or he could sneak out—all he had to do was come back here, grab his bag and his brother-in-law, and take a car to the private airport.

He stopped at the closed bedroom door he didn’t remember leaving shut, but maybe housekeeping had been in. He turned the knob and pushed the door open, coming to a startled stop.

“Surprise!” Cassidy called out from her seductive position on the bed.

She waited for him, stretched out on the mattress, wearing a barely there black camisole top. Triangular scraps of lace covered her breasts, pushing up the two luscious mounds of flesh he knew well. Her long blonde hair flowed over her shoulders, and light gloss covered her pouty lips.

She leaned against the fabric headboard, one leg bent, another stretched out and slightly parted, giving him a view of the pussy he could spend hours devouring.

“Holy fuck, Cass. What are you doing here?” He placed his guitar on the floor and kicked the door shut behind him.
