I take a ton of pictures of him on the beach. Some of him lying on the sand. A few of him lying in it as the tide rolled in and splashed around him.
I didn’t think it could get any better. Until we return to our room. To my surprise, he rinses off and rejoins me in a fresh pair of shorts.
“Ready to go again?” he asks, causing me to look up from my camera as I look through the shoots from the beach.
“If you’re up to it, sure.”
He drops his shorts and climbs onto the rose-petal-covered bed. I stand lost for a moment. I didn’t know he meant nude.
He lies across the bed, angled to face me while lifting a leg to block the view of his privates. If I shoot from the right position, I might be able to keep from exposing him.
“Will this work?” he asks as he props his head up on his hand.
I lick my lips. A shiver runs through me as he gives me the most intense look. This feels so intimate and kind of dirty.
“Um, yeah. Hold on, let me get a new SIM card.”
Once I have my camera ready and I’m all set up, I take advantage of the lighting that’s still spilling into the room or alcove, if you will. Lifting the camera, I get lost in my subject.
“That’s great. Can you turn your head for me? Look up.”
He does as I request with ease. For the next thirty minutes, he opens up for me and my camera. Wanting to really show him what I see, I have him shift the other way to expose his right side.
“Perfect,” I murmur to my camera after taking a few photos of him in the water surrounding our room. I have him place his shorts back on halfway through to take a few more before I’m fully satisfied.
“Let me see,” he says as he comes up behind me.
I melt into his arms as he wraps them around me. My lip is trapped between my teeth as I move through the images to show him. I can’t wait to get them loaded to enhance them.
They all look great and he looks superhot. Too bad no one else will ever see these. I’m not showing them to anyone.
“My turn,” he says and kisses the top of my head.
“I’m not getting naked,” I tease.
“You don’t have to. You’re beautiful just the way you are.”
“Do you know how to use this?”
“I plan to use my phone. This is how I see you, remember?”
“Okay, where do you want me?”
“Wherever you feel comfortable. Take your camera and sit wherever you want.”
I nod and go to sit on one of the rocks jutting out of the pool of water surrounding the room. I swipe my braids over one shoulder and look at Josh expectantly. He goes to get his phone and stares at me for a moment.
“Relax, take a few pics and act as if I’m not here.”
“I can do that,” I say nervously.
I point my camera at the gorgeous view and start to take pictures. Soon I’m so lost in the shots before me I’m not thinking about him taking photos of me.
I lower my camera, looking at the last shot I took. I’m swinging my legs in the water, carefree. That’s when Josh’s voice grabs my attention.
“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I would marry you today if you said yes.”
I look up and laugh. However, after he takes one more shot, I realize he’s not joking. He’s on one knee with a ring in his hand.
“Joshua?” I say with trembling lips.
“Marry me, Shawn. Live this life with me. I’m happiest when you’re in my arms. If you can see past all my damage and still love me, you’re the one. The only one for me, marry me.”
“Yes,” I say and stand from my perch.
He enters the water and lifts me onto his waist. I wrap my legs around him and cup his face as he kisses me. I can’t believe what’s happening.
“In one day, you’ve made so many of my dreams come true,” I say against his lips.
“I plan to spend the rest of my life giving you all the rest. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Good. Then you won’t mind what I have planned tomorrow.”
I pull back and look at him warily. The mischief in his eyes has me shaking my head. I already know what’s coming.
“Josh,” I pout. “The swing was a one-off. I don’t know what you have planned, but my stomach isn’t built for all of that.”
He pecks my lips. “Trust me.”
I roll my eyes. “Is it too late to change my mind?”
“Yup. You’re mine. We’re getting married, Mrs. Nikolaou.”
“And?”
“And we’re going cliff jumping,” he croons and kisses me hard.
“No, no, no, no,” I whimper into his neck.
