Distracted by the warmth between her legs, Daisy needed his assistance to step into her panties and jeans. The heat gathering in her most intimate spaces made her want to rip her clothes off to rub against herself. She knew she would have done this in a flash if she’d been alone. When Daisy pressed her fingers against the seam running between her legs, her Daddy’s hand lifted hers away.
“No touching without my permission, Baby girl. The heat will dissipate soon, and you don’t want to wipe away the medicine,” he corrected her sternly.
“But…”
“No buts.” Bear finished dressing her before he took her hand and lead Daisy from the nursery. “Time to go to work. I made you another smoothie. Can you hold it?” He handed her an insulated container from the fridge equipped with a straw.
She allowed him to guide her with an arm around her waist to her car parked in his driveway. Daisy relaxed slightly when she noted there was no evidence of flowers under her windshield wiper. Her Daddy’s home was safe.
“Text me when you get to work and let me know you’re there safely,” he instructed.
“Okay, Daddy.”
Sliding behind the wheel, she sighed in relief. The medicine’s heat was lessening just as he’d promised. Daisy took a sip of the smoothie before placing it in her cup holder.
“I’ll see you soon, Daisy,” Bear called as she backed out of his driveway.
Daisy waved furiously and blew several kisses before putting the car into reverse. The route to the floral shop passed quickly as her thoughts darted through her mind. The morning traffic kept her from reliving all their time together in detail. Before she knew it, Daisy was in her normal parking spot behind the store.
“Let’s go make some people happy,” she told herself aloud with a smile.
Chapter Eleven
The next week flew past in a flurry of petals, cupcakes, and kisses. Daisy spent as much time together with her Daddy as possible. Whether it was in the beautiful nursery he had created or during stolen minutes from their work schedules, she loved being with Bear. He was the best Daddy ever.
Daisy pushed the door open to Little Cakes and waved as the staff members all greeted her by name. “Hi, everyone. Do you think Tarson can take time off for lunch?”
“He better,” Ellie answered with a smile. “He’s been talking about the picnic lunch he packed for the two of you all morning. We’re about ready to break into the basket he brought.”
“Bear’s a great cook,” Daisy commented before laughing. “I’m sure you could have eaten half of what he made. There’s always so much food when he makes a meal.”
“I’ll go tell him you’re here,” Riley offered and headed through the swinging door into the rear of the cupcake bakery.
“He’s been hard at work on a new recipe for Lemon Chiffon cupcakes,” Ellie confided. “You’ll have to let me know what you think. Supposedly, our original recipe wasn’t good enough for his ‘Baby girl’s favorite cupcake.’” Ellie crooked her fingers in air quotes to show she repeated his words.
“Really?” Daisy smiled broadly. She loved how much her Daddy liked to spoil her.
“Looking at the ingredients he’s incorporated into this cupcake, I wish he had girlfriends who loved all the flavors. I’d be a billionaire in just a few weeks,” Ellie laughed.
When Daisy’s happy expression faltered, Ellie rushed to add, “Bear wouldn’t think of having any other girlfriends or Littles other than you. That man is totally smitten.”
“That’s right. No others for either one of us,” Bear confirmed as he came through the door to catch the last of their conversation.
“Hold these for me, Baby girl.” He handed Daisy a two-cupcake cardboard container before pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
“You made a special cupcake for me?” she asked, staring up at him.
“My Baby girl’s favorite has to be as extraordinary as she is,” he answered before gesturing toward the door with a wicker picnic basket.
Bear held out his hand for hers and squeezed her fingers tightly before leading Daisy outside. He chose a bench a few shops down from Little Cakes. “This okay for lunch, sweetheart?”
“It’s great! You didn’t need to go to so much trouble to make me a special cupcake.”
“No trouble. Ellie and I are looking at all the recipes to see if they can be improved. I chose to start with your favorite. We’ve almost sold out today. Everyone who has tried them bought a few more to take home.”
“I’ll try mine now,” she offered eagerly as she pulled open the small container.
“No, Baby girl. Lunch first, then dessert.”
“But…”
“No buts. Close that back up. It will wait. I promise.”
Bear opened the basket and pulled out a small container. “Try this. It’s a salad with edamame and veggies.”
“It looks awfully healthy,” Daisy commented, flicking one green bean with a finger.
