“Really?” my father says. “Isn’t it time he puts a ring on your finger?” I glare at him, and he just laughs. “I’m just doing my fatherly duty.” He holds up his hands. “I’ll get out of your hair so you can change.” He slaps Romeo’s arm. “I’m watching you.” He glares at him for a second before he laughs and walks out of the room.
I release Romeo’s hand and walk over to the vanity, putting my hands on the marble counter before turning and letting out a huge sigh of relief. “I’m sorry,” I tell him, and he just stares at me, his eyebrows pinched together. “This is supposed to be your special night and now it’s tainted.”
“It’s not tainted in the least,” Romeo reassures me. Coming into the bathroom, he puts his hands on my hips. “The only thing that could taint today would be you not being by my side.” He pulls me to him, and I wrap my arms around his neck as he bends and kisses my neck. “What would the odds be of me sliding into you right now?”
I look up at him and don’t answer him. Instead, I let go of his neck before walking over to the door. I close the door, locking it before I walk back over to him. His hands go to my hips, picking me up and placing me on the marble counter. I open my legs for him to step between, the robe falling to the side. His hands roam up my legs while I slip the jogging pants down his hips. He pulls me to the edge of the counter before he pushes my panties to the side and slides into me. His mouth covers mine to stop the moan that comes out of my mouth. He slides in and out of me softly and quickly. “I meant what I said,” he says once he lets go of my mouth. “I would die for you.” I stare into his eyes as he pumps into me. Both of us shut out the world around us. We come together with his face buried in my neck. “Every single day for the rest of my life, I’m going to show you.”
“If you propose to me while you are fucking me on a bathroom counter,” I warn, my hands going into his hair, “I’m going to be really, really pissed.”
He laughs. “Duly noted,” he says as he slips out of me, and I miss him already. Since we moved in with each other, I can count on one hand how many times we’ve been away from one another. He even filmed the movie in Dallas to make sure he was close to me. He tucks himself back in. “We have to get dressed.”
I nod at him as I get off the counter and wash myself off. Twenty minutes later, I’m slipping my dress on as he walks out of the walk-in closet, putting on his black jacket. “Can you zip me?” I ask, and he smiles and just stares at me.
“You look beautiful,” he declares, and I smile, looking down at the yellow one-sleeved silk dress. The top fits like a glove until the hip area. The dress opens mid-thigh on one part, ruffling down to the floor on the other side. It’s classy and sexy, which is what I was going for.
There is a soft knock on the door, and Jessica slips her head in. “Oh my,” she says when she sees me, “you look amazing.”
I smile at her as she walks in wearing her own one-sleeved black gown. It’s stunning and delicate. “This is the first dress I wore when I escorted Tyler to his movie premiere in Paris.” Her eyes light up. “So I thought it was a good choice since it’s his big night.” She blinks away the tears. “The car is here,” she informs us. “I wanted to just come in and tell you how proud I am of you.” She looks at Romeo. “You make me very proud.”
“Thank you,” he says as she grabs his face and pulls it down to kiss his cheek.
“Now.” She lets out a huge breath. “Let’s go and show the world how amazing my husband and son are.”
All I can do is smile at her as we walk down the stairs. My whole family is dressed to the nines as I take everyone in. Tyler stands talking to Uncle Matthew, Max, and my father. Ryleigh slides into the room from the side as she flattens down her black hair. She looks up at us and smiles. I see Stone walking back into the room, wiping his lips as he looks for Ryleigh, who is now standing beside Tyler, and just smiles at her.
We walk out and get into one of the five party buses Tyler set up for us. Sitting down next to Romeo, I slip my hand into his. “You ready?” I ask, and he just smiles at me.
