“Not if we shower and fuck at the same time.” He pulls me to him, gripping my ass in his hand.

Forty minutes later, I’m sitting at the table drinking my coffee when he comes downstairs wearing just his boxers and jeans, the top button open and the jeans hanging off his hips. “Whatcha doing, Sweetheart?” He kisses my head before walking to the kitchen and pouring himself his own cup of coffee.

“I’m making a list of Christmas gifts I have to buy.” I tap my pen on the paper in front of me.

“It’s in a couple of days,” he reminds me and I nod.

“I know, but I am now invited to your grandparents’ house.”

“So?” He pulls the chair out from beside me before sitting on it.

“I’m not going to Christmas empty-handed.” I gawk at him. “I’d rather not go. How many are on your list?”

He looks over and then smirks at me. “I don’t know. I didn’t make the list.”

I side-eye him. “Are we exchanging gifts?” I take a sip of the coffee to keep busy. Forget the fact I ordered him something four days ago because I thought about him. I was going to give it to him as a thank-you for helping me these past two weeks and for banging my brains out, but this could be a better excuse.

“We could,” he says. “I got you something, so we might as well exchange gifts.”

“You got me a present?” I ask, shocked, and he nods.

“I did,” he confirms as if it’s nothing. “I thought we could spend the day at my house since Colson is leaving with his mother.”

“Oh, really?” I try to hide my smile.

“Really. Why don’t you go and get dressed, and we can head into town and tackle some names off that list?”

“You are going to go shopping with me?”

“You going to blow me when we get back here while you sit on my face?” he asks me.

“I am, if you want.”

“Then I’ll take you shopping. How long will it take you to get ready?”

“Since you wet my hair in the shower”—I side-eye him—“maybe forty-five minutes. I can quickly dry it.” I push away from the table. “I’ll be back.”

“Sounds good. I’m going to call to check on Colson, then come back up and get dressed.” I kiss him quickly before rushing back upstairs to get ready.

We are walking out of the house an hour and a half later. It seems blow-drying your hair bent over is an invitation for him to slide his dick into you. I get into the truck, watching him walk around and get in, feeling a little bit of contentment and dread at the same time, but I decide to push it all away when he leans over and kisses my lips. “How is Colson?” I ask him when he buckles his seat belt.

“Back to normal.” He smiles. “He stayed home from school, just in case. I’m going to swing by and get him on my way home.”

“Oh, that’s good news,” I say, buckling myself. “It sucks to be sick on Christmas.”

He pulls into the parking lot near the stores, getting out and waiting for me at the back of the truck. “I need a coffee,” I tell him, looking at the coffee shop in front of me.

“That’s my grandmother’s shop,” he informs me, “and Sofia’s mom’s.” I stop in my tracks.

“Where all the good cookies are made?” I ask, my mouth watering as I think of all the treats Hazel brings when she visits.

“That would be the place.” He pulls the door open for me, and the aroma of baked cake hits my nose.

“I want one of everything,” I tell him, and he laughs.

“I thought that was you. What are you doing here?” I hear from beside me and look over to see Casey’s wife, Olivia, walking away from the counter with a cup of coffee in her hand. Going to Gabriel, she kisses his cheek before she turns and is surprised to see me. “And you.” She looks at me and then back at Gabriel. “So nice to see you out and about. I heard you were joining us for Christmas Eve.”

“Yes, I couldn’t say no once Charlotte called me and then my mother, father, brother, and then Sofia called to let me know I couldn’t say no.”

“Sounds just about right.” She laughs at my description. “What are your plans for the day?”

“I have to get some gifts for the family. I’m not showing up empty-handed, so you forget what you were going to say.”

“That’s fine. I guess I would probably do the same.” She smiles at me. “Anyway, I have to run. I have to go see a man about a horse.” She kisses my cheek and then Gabriel’s before she walks out of the store.

I watch her get into her SUV and pull out. “I didn’t know she worked with you guys at the farm.”
