“Thank you for this, baby.”
“For what?” she asked me, honest confusion in her voice.
I smiled at her. “For Taya,” I told her. Her eyes softened. God, our woman was fucking beautiful. “Today, you made me one of the happiest fucking men in the world.”
“Does that mean my name is going on the marriage certificate, then?” Caiden asked. “You got the baby with her first. I want to marry her.”
She gaped at him. “Caiden!” she exclaimed. But I couldn’t help but laugh. He and I already had this discussion, and I had actually been the one to tell him to marry her. He had TriCare health insurance, and if he married her, both she and our baby would go on his insurance.
Not to mention, she would get a hell of a lot of benefits because he used to serve in the military, and since he got an honorable discharge, he got to keep most of his benefits.
“What?” He grinned at her. “I’ll do a better proposal later, but I want to marry you.”
“But—”
“We’ve already talked about this, beautiful,” I assured her, deciding to put her out of her misery. She looked up at me. “I want him to marry you. In terms of marriage, you’ll benefit more by marrying him, as will Taya. Otherwise, neither of us would give a fuck who you decided to put on the marriage certificate.”
“Oh, my God,” she whispered. Tears filled her eyes. “You mean you don’t want to actually marry me?” she asked, looking at Caiden.
“Fuck,” he whispered. He cupped her face in his hands. “That’s not what I meant, baby. I want everything with you—marriage, family, a baby of our own a little further down the road—but Christian and I both want you to have everything you may need, and I have government benefits, which would be better for you in the long run. Don’t twist it up and get lost in your head, baby girl.”
“Sorry,” she croaked. She swiped at her eyes with her free hand. “I guess I’m still pretty emotional.”
I leaned over the bed and kissed her. “You’re always emotional, baby girl, but I love it,” I assured her. “Besides, we have time. Fucker needs to propose to you properly.”
Caiden rolled his eyes but grinned at her when she blushed. “So fucking cute, babe.” He brushed his thumb over her bottom lip.
Her cheeks darkened. I laughed softly.
Her innocence would never grow old for either of us.
EPILOGUE
Ally
My cheeks were on fire as the president of the school called my name to come on stage and grab my diploma. Being the center of attention was never my thing, and it still wasn’t.
Two and a half years later, I was finally finished with pharmacy school, and I was now a full-time pharmacist at a hospital I had done one of my internships with. Today, I was finally getting my diploma—finally graduating.
Caiden and Christian had been there for me every step of the way, taking over Taya’s care in the evenings so that I could focus on getting my schoolwork done. Caiden was amazing at math and science, and with his help, I passed all of those courses with flying colors. And with Christian’s help, I passed all of my English and Language Arts classes, as well as all of my history classes. Between the two of them, they helped me memorize everything else.
I was graduating with a 4.0 GPA and was at the top of my class.
I had declined doing the speech, and with my medical history, they let it go, instead choosing the next available candidate.
When the ceremony was completely over, I was immediately engulfed into a hug between my two men as they congratulated me, proud smiles on their faces. My heart swelled in my chest.
I really couldn’t be happier.
Taya ran up to me with a squeal. “Mommy!” she yelled, launching herself at my legs. I laughed and leaned down, swooping her up into my arms, the motion making me slightly nauseous, but I managed not to throw up everywhere.
“Hi, baby,” I greeted.
“You did it!” she yelled. She planted a wet, sloppy kiss on my cheek. I laughed.
I pressed a kiss to her nose. “I did it, baby.” Julian walked up to me with Axel and Meghan. Christian reached out and took Taya from me before Axel swooped in and wrapped me up in his arms, spinning me around. He pressed a kiss to the top of my head once he set me back on my feet.
“You have no fucking idea how proud I am of you.” Tears sprang to my eyes. Axel had always been my role model and my rock, and to hear those words from his mouth on one of the biggest days of my life made my chest swell with so much happiness that it felt like it was going to burst.
