I clenched my jaw, wanting to do nothing more than smack him. “You’re a jackass. You knew I was going to make cupcakes. You could have said something before I did all of this work,” I snapped at him.

He threw his arms up into the air in exasperation. “Woman, I thought it was common fucking sense! You make cupcakes—you need wrappers for them!”

I screamed in frustration and threw the entire bowl of cupcake batter at his face right as Christian walked in the door. Caiden released an animalistic kind of growl as I glared at him while I threw the plastic bowl back onto the counter. “You are a fucking asshole,” I sneered at him, too angry and upset to even laugh at the mess I made of his face. Cupcake batter dripped from his chin and slowly slid down his cheeks.

“What the fuck is going on?” Christian asked as he stepped into the kitchen, looking between me and his brother.

“Your girlfriend needs a good dick down because she’s pissy as fuck,” Caiden snapped as he grabbed a towel to wipe his face so he could see.

I grabbed the whisk and threw it at him next. “What the fuck?!” Caiden barked at me.

“You’re such a dick!” I shouted back at him.

“And you obviously need some!” Caiden snapped.

I reached for the measuring cup next, but Christian quickly grabbed me around my waist and pulled me back against him. Before I could throw it, he plucked the cup from my hand and tossed it into the sink. “Alright. Let’s all chill the fuck out for a second. What happened?” he asked, releasing me and moving to the side so he could look at both of us.

“He knew I was trying to make cupcakes, but he didn’t tell me I needed cupcake wrappers.” I glowered at the asshole cleaning batter off his face.

Christian rolled his lips into his mouth, his eyes lighting up with laughter. I shoved myself away from him. “Not you, too!” I shouted.

He laughed softly. “Babe, that is kind of common sense,” he told me. I childishly stomped my foot, and his grin widened. He pulled me to him, taking my lips in a soft, slow kiss, his tongue dancing with mine for a moment. I moaned, my anger evaporating as I pressed myself closer to him, running my hands over his chest and broad shoulders.

“See? She needs a fucking dick down.”

This time, Christian was the one that threw the measuring cup at his brother. I glared at Caiden. “At least I can get dick,” I retorted.

He narrowed his eyes at me, but I only smirked. “Oh, not so cocky when the tables are turned, huh?” I asked him.

“Woman, you’re playing with fire,” he warned me.

I only smirked at him. “Sometimes, a woman likes to be burned.”

Christian growled softly as he nuzzled my neck. “Keep on, woman, and I’ll burn you,” my man huskily promised as he nipped at my earlobe. A soft moan crawled up my throat, and I closed my eyes.

Caiden groaned. “I’m going to take a shower. Don’t forget your food is in the oven, so don’t be fucking in the shower for an entire damn hour like you two seem to make a habit of.”

With that, Caiden flashed me his trademark smirk and spun on his heel, striding from the kitchen. Christian swung me up into his arms, and I squeaked in shock, but that squeak quickly turned into a needy whimper when his lips took mine in a hard kiss.

PAST COMES KNOCKING

Ally

“How did your session with Dr. Gresham go today?” Christian asked me as he slowly ran soap over my body.

“I cried,” I told him honestly. He pressed a kiss behind my ear, a small reward for always remaining open and honest with him. “But I realized something during my session today, or rather, Dr. Gresham helped me realize something.”

“And what was that?” Christian asked me, gently turning me so he could wash my back.

I rested my hand over my bloated belly. “That I love this baby,” I said quietly.

Christian turned me back around to face him as he dropped the loofa to the floor of the shower. His lips settled over mine, taking them in a slow, sweet kiss that had tears burning in my eyes. “You’re going to make an amazing mom, Ally,” Christian told me, his voice nothing more than a deep rasp. “And when your world turns dark, you have support—always,” he reminded me.

I swallowed thickly, nodding my head. He kneeled down on the shower floor and gripped my hips. A sob ripped from my throat as he pressed light kisses to my belly. Only then did I realize how much he had been holding himself back so I wouldn’t be overwhelmed.

Christian was actually excited about having a baby with me.

“You’ve been excited this whole time, haven’t you?” I asked him, reaching down to run my fingers through his wet hair.
