Cereal and colorful marshmallows float on the rising water that spills over the counter and onto the floor.

“Donnelly,” I say while quickly shutting off the faucet and stepping on mushy cereal. “Donnelly?” My heart is pounding out of my chest, and I try to catch his blue eyes with mine—but he’s distant.

Elsewhere…

“Donnelly,” I whisper more tenderly, realizing he’s asleep. He’s only wearing black drawstring pants.

The sink basin is overflowed, and cereal keeps flying out of the box as he shakes and shakes like he’s filling a sink-sized bowl for breakfast.

I don’t know if I should take the cereal from him.

He seems…content.

He’s muttering something. “Hmm…she’s too…she’s a ten…fifteen…not you, man…”

Should I touch him? I have no real experience with sleepwalking. I pat my cotton shorts and hoodie for my phone. It’s on my bed. Quickly, I go grab my phone and come back. He’s still shaking the box.

I do a quick search on my phone.

Donnelly gesticulates as he talks, the box of cereal moving with him. I’m pelted with a couple Lucky Charms, but I don’t care. My heart beats faster.

“Yeah, yeah…space babe.”

I freeze. Is he talking about me?

“…dunno…it’s a hoagie, man…a hoagie…no, for Luna…Luna.” He enunciates my name, and my lips rise. Even if it’s wrong to be happy that I’m occupying his subconscious, I can’t help but smile knowing I am.

Back to the quick search, I realize that I shouldn’t jolt Donnelly awake but gently guide him back to bed. Easy enough. I slip my phone away and then open his bedroom door. “Okay, Donnelly, we’re going to bed.”

“Going to bed,” he repeats and follows my voice.

“Yep, this way.” I try to direct him, but he stops in the middle of the bathroom and sways. I reach out and gently take his hand.

“Feels good…” he whispers.

My pulse skips. “Uh-huh, it’ll feel even better in bed.” I try to lead him to his bedroom, not worrying about the wet floors. Cleaning is a boring thing that can happen tomorrow. The procrastinator in me rejoices at this idea. “No, this way,” I whisper to Donnelly as he pulls me towards my room. “Wrong…way.” I trail off, realizing I shouldn’t jerk him. If he wants to sleep here tonight, I don’t mind.

So I flick off the bathroom light and slowly guide him to my bed instead. The purple nebula is still gliding over my cloud-like comforter and the dark walls of my room.

Orion licks Donnelly’s ankle and then curls up on his doggie bed.

Donnelly doesn’t seem to notice the dog kiss. He just crawls under the soft bedding and holds his box of cereal like a teddy bear. “She’s got a…golden…pussy…”

Can’t be me.

“Luna…”

I smile again, but it feels wrong to hear his innermost thoughts without expressing some of my own.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, I tell him, “I’ve imagined being in your room about a million times…I would crawl into your bed with you…” He snuggles harder to the cereal box. Should I keep going? I bite the edge of my lip and trace the lines of the galaxy on my thigh, lost in remembrance. “I’ve touched myself imagining what you’d feel like inside me. You rocking against me. Your dick so deep…in me.” I swallow hard, and I find myself staring at my damp feet, swirls of purple rolling over my skin. “I looked up your piercings by the way. Frenum and apadravya. Yeah, those are…those look like they’d feel really good.”

“Luna?”

My pulse spikes.

That was a very lucid Luna. “Donnelly?” I whirl towards him, his eyes now on mine. Bits of confusion furrow his brows as he sees my bed and the cereal box in his arms. I explain, “I was trying to lead you to bed, but you wanted to go here. I think you were sleepwalking.”

Realization washes over him faster than lightning, and he’s nodding, like he’s not surprised he wanted to be here. Or that he was sleepwalking.

Maybe both.

“How long have you been awake?” I ask him.

“You want my dick inside of you?” Humor laces his voice, and he scoots up to lean back against the headboard. The netting and warm lights around him are majestic, and the purple nebula makes him look beyond hot and handsome.

“I was sharing because you were oversharing,” I tell him with a nod.

“Sleeptalking?” he guesses.

I nod. “And you made cereal in the sink.”

He reaches over and puts the Lucky Charms on my nightstand near my neon clock. “I thought…” He shakes his head, lying back against the headboard, and I climb further on the bed, sitting beside him.

For a second, he watches the nebula roll over us, and then his eyes rest easy on mine. “I thought moving here and living beside you would stop it. It did for a while there.”

I frown. “How long have you been sleepwalking?”

“Off and on for years,” he says quietly. “It got bad recently.” Recently…
