"Mmmm,” was all I managed to get out. Sam smiled against my mouth. It filled me with pure joy. I thought about what he'd said the night before about me feeling too much. If he was right, then I wondered what it would be like to feel too much of this… too much pleasure, too much happiness, too much contentedness. I couldn't fathom such a thing, but I knew if it were possible, it would happen with Sam. It would happen because of Sam.

"What do you want to do for our date today?" Sam asked.

"We're doing it," I murmured.

Sam chuckled and dropped his head on his arms which he’d crossed over my chest. "Do you think we can get Ronan on board?"

"Ronan's not getting his board anywhere near you," I growled and then I rolled us so I was on top of Sam.

"That's not what I—" was all he managed to get out before I kissed him. I could feel his erection against me. The fact that he'd been so focused on me that he hadn't taken care of himself in the process made me ridiculously happy.

"I'm sure date number eleven is the stay naked in bed all day date. If not, it should be." I reached my hand between our bodies and closed it around Sam's dick. He groaned and arched his back.

"No argument here," Sam managed to get out. I stroked him several more times as I teased his mouth with soft kisses.

"Okay, so I'll go talk to him." I released Sam and made a move to get off the bed.

"What? Now?" Sam practically yelled. I managed to cover my smile as he grabbed my arm. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

"Am I?" I asked.

Sam tugged me back on top of him. "Finish what you started, you tease."

I brushed a kiss over his mouth and said, "Okay, but just so you know, Ronan will probably be knocking on the door any minute now. I can either take care of this"—I gave his dick a firm tug—"now, or I can talk to Ronan and arrange our naked stay in bed day and then take care of you when I get back."

Sam arched his brows. "How is that a choice? Take care of me now, dammit," he demanded.

I chuckled and said, "Oh, did I forget to mention that when I get back, it won’t be my hand or my mouth that will be taking care of this beauty?" I looked pointedly down at his cock.

It took him a good seven seconds to understand what I was saying. It was nearly comical when his eyes shifted to my backside. "Asshole," he growled and then he was shoving me away. "Go, go. Get us our naked stay in bed day and then get that gorgeous ass of yours back here."

I laughed and climbed off the bed. I went to the bathroom to grab my pants but didn't bother putting them on right away. I made sure to stop in the doorway so I could slowly bend over and pull the pants on in full view of the bed. I heard Sam let out an angry curse and then a pillow hit me square in the back.

I left the room with a grin on my face, but the second I reached the kitchen and saw Ronan standing just inside the door, his expression grim, all my happiness went up in a cloud of smoke and the old Matias, the one who knew darkness could only be fought with darkness, returned.

Bishop had finally come.

Chapter 28

Sam

There was part of me that was terrified that all of this was some dream I was going to wake up from any moment now. I'd fallen in love with broody, demanding, distant Matias weeks ago and with little effort on his part, so how was I ever going to survive what I was feeling for funny, sweet, charming Matias? If someone had told me weeks ago that I'd be lying in bed waiting for the most gorgeous man on the planet to return to it so I could finally have him in every way possible, I would have asked them what they'd been smoking. But that moment was here, and I felt as giddy and nervous as a teenager.

This first for Matias would also be a first for me and I didn't want to screw it up. I also didn't want to do anything to damage the newfound footing we'd finally managed to find ourselves on.

"Don't overthink it, Sam," I murmured.

Of course, that was a lot easier said than done.

Maybe I should shower first. Or at least brush my teeth? And where was the lube? Was there enough of it left? We hadn't been using condoms, but what if he wanted me to wear one the first time? I didn’t have any but maybe he did?
