“Why do you call me that sometimes—hurricane?”

“Why, is it stupid?” I ask him.

“Depends. I need to know the reason first.” The laughter in his voice makes me smile.

“I don’t know…I thought of you that way at first. Wild and fierce and hard to tame. There’s a freedom to you and, I don’t know. I guess it stuck.”

“No,” he says softly. “No, it’s not stupid.” He’s quiet for a moment and then asks, “Is it what you thought it would be? Being with a man?”

“It’s what I hoped it would be,” I answer honestly. “It felt…right…good. No, you felt right and good. I’m glad it was you.” I kiss his temple, cup his sac some more.

“I’m glad it was me too…you’ll always remember me.”

“Shh. None of that,” I tell him. “We’re just gonna enjoy the moment. I’m going to spend a lot of time exploring every inch of your body. Daddy has a lot of time to make up for.” So we do. He lets me play with him and stroke him. He writhes against me. Neither of us comes but we don’t need to. That’s not what this moment is about. When we’re done, I wash him up and then dry each of us off before we climb right back into my bed.

I lie on my back, Derek half on top of me, his right arm and leg slung over me, his head in the crook of my arm, face close to my armpit. He nuzzles in tight. “I’m gonna take you out tomorrow, and you’re gonna let me,” I tell him.

The reply I get is a soft, sleepy, “Yes, Daddy.” I feel him smile against my skin. “But don’t expect me to always be so accommodating. I’m doing this more for me than you.”

I chuckle, squeezing him tighter. “Don’t worry. I’ll never expect you to be easy.”

“Unless it’s in bed.”

“Unless it’s there.”

We decide to go to the zoo on Friday. Luckily, Derek doesn’t have any trouble getting the day off. He loves animals and hasn’t been in a long time. He nearly loses his mind when I tell him I haven’t been to a zoo at all.

We make a stop by Metropolis so he can change. When I kill the engine, he says, “You can wait in the Jeep if you want.”

“Why would I want to wait in the Jeep? Are you embarrassed to be seen with me?” I tease but as I look at him, I realize I’m not too far from the truth. “You’re embarrassed to walk into your building with me? Jesus, Derek. What the fuck?”

“No. Don’t get your panties in a twist. That’s not it. I just don’t typically do this kind of thing and as big as Metropolis is, it’s a small building. Everyone’s already talking about having seen you come and go before and now we’re coming and going together.”

“So? I cramp your style, or what? Jesus, that sounded old.”

“Who gives a shit about age? You’re only thirty-seven, not eighty-seven. I’m just worried about losing my street cred. They’re already talking—throwing around the D word.”

“D word?” I ask.

“Dating,” he whispers as though someone can hear us and it takes everything in me not to laugh.

“Shut up and get out of the car, Derek. Don’t annoy me, or I might even hold your hand to make it worse.” But the truth is, I can understand where he’s coming from. This is all so new and fast—and temporary, since neither of us is looking for something serious.

We get out, and I don’t hold his hand, but I don’t keep my distance either. I’m stuck between wanting to claim him so people know he’s temporarily off the market and changing my mind and waiting in the Jeep.

We make it upstairs and Derek gets changed. He wears a pair of shorts and a pink T-shirt with a V neck and looks so goddamn adorable, I almost call off our date and spend the day with my dick in him instead.

As we ride in the quiet elevator as it descends, I turn to him. “See? I didn’t even ruin your reputation. We didn’t see anyone you know.”

“I guess you’re right. I would have only made all the gays jealous anyway…actually, maybe we should hope to run into someone.” He winks and I grin. Jesus, he’s addicting.

I pull Derek close. “You’re ridiculous.” Then cup his face and press my lips to his. It’s supposed to be a short, innocent kiss but like everything between us, shit gets real—fast. My tongue is pushing past his lips and he’s clinging to me, blunt nails in my waist.

My brain doesn’t turn back on until after the elevator dings, and I hear, “Holy fuck,” in one voice. “Get him, boy,” in another and, “This must be Derek’s daddy,” in another. He immediately tenses and jerks back. I look over to see four men standing there—two who I don’t recognize…the redhead and the man with glasses looking slightly familiar, but I can’t place from where.
