They drift off between maneuvers to get comfortable, but I don’t think I actually fall asleep for another hour.

When I wake, I’m almost entirely sprawled on top of Hunter, Kade’s arm around both of us.

I blink, tilting my head back to look up at Hunter. With his head laying to the side, he breathes peacefully, his hair resting over his closed eyes.

The heat of his body soaks into my skin, and I can’t stop staring at his hair. So many shades of blond, strands of almost light brown mixed in as if on purpose with the lighter tones. I never noticed that before.

Reaching up, I trace the ridge of his nose, touching him with just the tip of my finger, but the contact makes the hair on my arm rise.

His brow pinches together as he starts to stir, and I run the back of my fingers lightly over his eyelids. I drag the pads of my fingers down his face, something swelling in my chest so big that I feel like the air is being sucked out of the room.

I cup his jaw, running my thumb over his mouth.

He opens his eyes, immediately locking gazes with me. “I love you,” he says.

I smile, teeth and everything, this amazing feeling like I want to cry because I’m so excited taking me over.

I open my mouth, but a sound behind me stops me in my tracks.

I twist my head, Hunter lifting his, and Kade jerking awake.

My father stands in the open doorway, a tray of two to-go coffees laying on the floor where he dropped them.

Rage fills his eyes, making them look like lit sticks of dynamite, and his chest rises and falls faster and faster.

“What the fuck?” he growls.

I suddenly become aware that I am only wearing a T-shirt and underwear, and Kade and Hunter are both half-naked.

I scramble, trying to climb out of all the arms and legs. “Dad,” I gasp.

“Oh, shit,” Kade groans, rolling onto the floor and rising to his feet.

I scurry, Hunter quickly throwing the sheet over me and leaping over to my desk, grabbing my jeans. He tosses them to me, and I hurriedly slip them on under the bedding.

I keep my eyes locked on my father.

But he’s not looking at me. He stares at the floor, takes two steps, and picks up something off the ground. When he holds up the vibrator, I whimper, my eyes rounding in terror.

“It’s not what it looks like!” I scream. “I promise.”

When he raises his eyes, he glares at Kade, then Hunter. His hand is visibly shaking, and my palm shoots to my mouth.

“Oh, no,” Hunter mumbles.

“Yeah.” Kade nods, throwing on his shirt. “He’s about to fucking explode.” He growls at his brother, “Go!”

Kade rushes for the door, flying past my father as my dad turns, looking like he’s about to grab him. Hunter twists toward me. I jump out of the bed, fastening my jeans.

“Just go!” I tell him, pushing.

He shakes his head. “I’m not leaving you to face this—”

I kiss him, feeling his groan as I quickly pull away. “Just go,” I bark. “Please!”

My father moves in, Hunter looks at me, in turmoil, and I push him. “Please!” I cry. “I’ll handle it.”

My mom appears at the door with my brother, takes one look at my scared face and Hunter and sends my brother away.

“Hunter!” Kade yells from downstairs.

“It’s not what you think,” I say to my dad, and then look to my mom. “Mom, nothing happened!”

“Hunter!” Kade bellows again.

Dad charges, and I push Hunter. “Go!”

“Dylan, no,” he argues.

“You being here won’t help,” I beg.

He bares his teeth, frustrated, and charges out of the room, getting his brother out of here.

“Did they coerce you?” my dad asks. “Get you drunk?”

I look at him like he’s crazy. What? “Dad, you practically helped raise them! How can you ask that?”

He holds up the sex toy, and I snatch it back, hiding it behind me as I hear Hunter’s car outside start up. “Nothing happened!”

“You’re lying!” he yells, and I startle.

He’s never yelled like that before.

“You’re lying to me,” he bites out.

My mom flies in, putting herself between us. “Enough.”

“I won’t have it!” he cries. “You don’t sleep in a bed in your fucking underwear with two guys and say nothing happened.”

“Kade has never touched me!” I yell.

Air pours in and out of his mouth as he seethes, but his voice is a level quieter when he asks, “And Hunter?”

I close my mouth, swallowing through my parched throat.

His glower pounds me into the floor, but I square my shoulders and don’t look away. “I’m eighteen, and I’d like my privacy.”

He rears back, a whole new look in his eyes as if that’s not the stance I want to be taking right now. His eyes light up with the challenge, but instead of fighting me more, he starts to back up and leave the room.
