“Stop being sweet. My emotional state can’t handle it.”

“Would you rather me tell you how many ways I’m thinking about fucking you tonight? How I’ll eat your sweet pussy until you beg for mercy. Your knees over my shoulders or you sitting on my face—your choice. Then watch you take me hard, over and over, until you’re screaming. Last night was a tease compared to what I have planned for you in this dress.”

Her breath catches and a shiver rolls through her body. She wiggles, her ass rubbing my cock, which throbs at the friction.

“Watch it, baby.”

“You can’t say things like that.”

“You can handle it.” I hold her, watching Ace sway with Harley, his eyes locked on hers with an intensity I understand well.

The song ends, Ace kissing Jay once more before jutting his chin to Xena. Guests swarm the couple and Jewls twists to face me. Her eyes are heated and hungry, a blush spreading up her neck.

“You will pay for that.”

“What?” I ask innocently, knowing she’s worked up.

A presence steps closer, and I glance to find Rowan looking between us. “Am I interrupting?”

“No, Major was just telling me how he’s looking forward to his cold shower later tonight.”

Rowan’s eyes bulge, her cheeks splotching. “I don’t mean to point out the obvious, but the damage is already done.” She discreetly points to Jewls’ stomach. “Why deprive yourself of the good stuff?”

Jewls’ jaw drops and I crack into laughter. “She has a point.”

“Who are you, and what have you done with my shy friend?” Jewls staggers.

“I’m not shy, I’m reserved. There’s a vast difference.”

Ford chuckles, stepping closer. It’s impossible to miss the way he rakes her over.

It’s apparent Rowan’s changed. We all prepared for her to slink back into a shell after the incident, but she proved us wrong. She started counseling immediately. According to Jewls, she went into her first session ready to attack the insecurities and demons Craig Johns brought into her life.

Times like now, it’s easy to tell she’s moving on. Jewls was afraid today may be too much for her, but Rowan insisted on bringing her team and being a part of the pre-wedding bridal prep.

“I will overlook your snarky commentary since you made me fabulous,” Jewls goes on, gesturing to her hair and make-up.

“It’s easy to do,” Rowan replies sincerely.

“Why are y’all standing around gabbing when there are three open bars? We are at a wedding, not a convention.” Shayla edges in, taking a sip of her wine. “The wine is divine.”

“Don’t say it, don’t rub it in, don’t even let me smell it!” Jewls practically stomps. “My future in-laws supply the finest wine from their winery, and I can’t even partake.”

“Partaking got you in that situation,” Shayla shoots back.

I drop my chin to hide my smile, waiting for the comeback.

“You sleep with Major Powers and see what happens. He has super sperm that defy the laws of modern-day protection.”

“Jesus, fuck, did I just hear that?” Ford mumbles.

“I’m scarred for life knowing that Powers has super sperm,” Talon utters.

“I can see how this is true,” Rowan pipes in.

“I’m not sleeping with him; you’re sleeping with him,” Shayla carries on casually.

“Not right this minute.”

“What do you suggest? I drag him to the pool house and bang his brains out?”

At this, I can’t hold back pinning Jewls with my glare. “Can we shut this shit down?”

“Sure, honey, we won’t talk about your swimmers.” She grins coyly.

“What won’t we talk about?” Ember sidles in with Robbie.

I send Jewls a silent warning.

“I’ll tell you later, Ember. These guys will scale buildings and dodge flying bullets, but apparently, reproductive activity is off limits.”

Ember nods, understanding crossing her face.

“But I will take this opportunity to obsess over the wedding gown again. You truly outdid yourself.”

“Ditto,” Shayla toasts.

“I could totally put Harley in a ponytail and minimal makeup. That dress is phenomenal,” Rowan gushes.

Robbie brushes her hair to the side, placing his mouth on her neck. “Told you, Little Star. Can you stop fucking stressing now?”

She slices her eyes to him. “It was a very important event.”

“And you made it even more spectacular.” Jewls reaches over, squeezing her hand.

“Hitting the bar.” Ford cuts his eyes to Rowan. “You coming with?”

“We’re all coming with.” Talon leads the pack, leaving me with a giddy fiancée.

“That was fun.”

“Whatever makes you happy.”

“Good answer.” She lifts on her toes, kissing me quickly. “Just so you know, I wouldn’t actually let Shayla bang your brains out.”

“Glad it wouldn’t come to that.”

“We should probably go find our families.”

“How about you do that? I need to talk to Robbie for a second.”

She studies me, her eyes filling with concern. “JaKoby?”

“Yeah, babe, but it won’t take long.”

She kisses me again, going in the bar's direction. I catch up to Robbie and Ember. “You got a minute?”

Robbie jerks his chin.

“I’ll leave you alone,” Ember tries, but I reach for her hand.
