With each word, I lean closer.

She whimpers and moves the rest of the way, kissing me as I kiss her, the fierceness of the contact made even more intense with my words underlying it.

Her body feels like it’s heating up, scorching through her clothes.

“I know I sound insane,” I tell her between kisses, my manhood getting hard, but it feels like it’s a different way this time.

There’s more urgency in the swelling, my balls expanding, and the rising and irrepressible need.

“But I own you. I own every part of you with your perfect body and that gorgeous smile and…and the right to support you, Danni, every single day. You will always know I am in your corner. To most people, this would sound stupid. But I know you’ll understand what I mean. My loyalty to you is like a dog’s. It will never waver. Ever.”

She smiles as she lets out a trembling sob noise, her hands sliding up my arms and squeezing onto my shoulders.

She holds onto me firmly, digging her nails in, letting me feel her passion in her touch.

Her eyes are hazy. I wonder if this was a mistake and if I’ve pushed it too far.

I shouldn’t have said it all right away.

But then her smile gets wider, brighter, and more beautiful…which shouldn’t be possible.

“I feel the same,” she whispers. “All of it. Dominic. All of it. I want to be with you, only you. I want you to be the only man I ever know. I want kids together. A life. I want it all.”

A snarl escapes me as I kiss her again. My hands slip down to her hips, driving her toward the wall.

But then the dogs start to yap, and I realize I have to stop, at least here.

“Come on,” I say, taking my woman’s hand.

“Where are we going?” she asks, but she’s following me anyway.

“Someplace I can show you just how much you mean to me.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Danni

He has his hand on the small of my back as we ride the elevator up toward the hotel’s penthouse suite.

We walked into reception like a couple, his hand wrapped around mine. His heat scorches up my arm and into my heart. On some level, we knew it was wrong, being so public about it.

But it’s like the revelation we feel the same about each other blots everything else out.

My whole body feels like it could set alight, my sex tingling and hot, my lips rubbing tantalizingly against my panties. Nerves try to claw at the moment, telling me I’ll never be able to take his huge manhood.

I felt how huge he was in his office almost a week ago now when I was spreading precome all over his length.

But then his words return to me, blazing in my mind.

I turn, moving closer to him, looking up into his intense eyes. There’s that animal within, the shimmering in his eyes, the silent howling of my protector.

“Say it again,” I murmur.

“You’re mine,” he says gruffly, pushing me against the wall of the elevator, letting me feel his huge manhood against my belly. “Only mine. Forever.”

“Forever?” I whisper. “You really mean that? It’s not a metaphor?”

“Every. Single. Day.” He kisses the edge of my mouth, then moves away as if he won’t be able to stop himself if he doesn’t. “Nobody else will ever touch your sweet ass, your soaked sexy slit, kiss your gorgeous lips, or tame your beautiful hair when it’s in a messy ponytail. Just me.”

“Just you,” I say, sensation fluttering through me.

The elevator door opens onto a long hallway leading to a spacious living room. But Dominic isn’t interested in that.

I giggle when he lifts me, cradling me to his chest and carrying me through the threshold.

“It feels like our wedding day,” I say without thinking, then my hand flies over my mouth as I wonder if I’ve gone too far.

He laughs gruffly, kissing me on the cheek.

“What part of forever didn’t you understand? You don’t have to be ashamed. Ever.”

The unspoken betrayal hangs in the room, the fact we’re doing this – or we’re going to try, anyway, since I’ve still got no clue if I can – before telling Lizzy.

But with the revelation fueling us, it’s difficult to stop.

He makes me feel weightless as he carries me through the luxurious hotel room. I know the money to pay for this sort of suite came from his real estate business and wise investments when he was younger, sending me another shimmer.

He wants me forever, wants kids – we’ve talked about the exact number – and he’s proving he can provide.

He carries me into the bedroom and lays me on the silk sheets.

“Wait there,” he says huskily, walking across the room and pulling the curtains shut.

He turns on the lamps, sending a warm glow across the room, then returns, standing at the edge of the bed with his muscles pressing through the fabric of his shelter polo.
