Oh, he liked that.

I could feel the density in his body change as he made a low hum. It felt like a happy-as-fuck sound to me, but I knew I was right when he finally sighed and did his human performance. “I am glad you enjoyed the scene, my mate.”

Kissing my head also felt very human of him, but the ripply hug his limbs gave me felt more like a natural instinct from him. It all just made me smile even though my body was going what the fuck are you doing having that many circus sex orgasms in one night?

It might’ve been right considering I could feel every muscle, but it would be worth the aches in the morning.

And I had a really good Dom, so I was pretty sure a massage was on my reward list for being good.

“I did.” I gave him another kiss to make sure he knew it and kept my voice low still. “And it was a good way to explore exhibitionism. A little step first.”

“A very reasonable approach to exploration.” Saint’s limbs slowly caressed over me as he gave me another kiss on my head. “Do you wish to keep our exploration private or is this a subject that others may overlisten?”

He paused.

“Relisten…overhear. Yes. Overhear.” Mumbling something about editing, he sighed. “I will learn every rule.”

That sounded painful.

“I’m pretty sure the authors don’t have to know all the rules. I’ve got a coworker that’s writing some kind of clean romance series and she says that’s what editors are for.” She was very firm when she said that too. “So focus on doing your best to get your ideas down and then let someone else help you clean it up.”

Saint sounded skeptical. “I have been told that by others as well.”

“You know…” His gentle massage-like caresses were going to put me to sleep. “Once you’re happy with your English skills, you might want to see about taking some of your people’s writings and translate that to English.”

That’d be kind of cool.

“Humans are curious.” He sounded like he hadn’t thought about that before, but he didn’t seem like he was against it. “You have given me many thoughts.”

When he paused, I knew he was rearranging the sentence again. “You have given me much to think about.”

He should’ve been pleased but I got a human-sounding huff. “I should not have learned Mandarin and Spanish first.”

Good grief.

“There are many speakers of those languages.” Starting with the biggest populations made sense. “However, I have found this country to be where I would like to call home as humans say.”

“I bet those were interesting to learn.” I wasn’t sure what else to say.

“Reading in a native language provides factual information not always given in translations.” He shrugged like that was just how it was. “It was necessary to understand those details to pick where I would be most likely to find my mate.”

Oh.

“That makes sense.” Had to understand the locals to figure out where he wanted to live and have a family.

“Earth governments were not always factual regarding social conventions.” That seemed confusing to him but I was glad he hadn’t taken everything any of the governments had said at face value.

“You were smart and took your time, though.” I laughed as Saint did a happy wiggle, rocking the water back and forth. “And then you found me.”

Giving me another hum as he stroked over me, Saint made a very human pleased sound. “Additional education results in superior decision-making.”

I was betting half the people who could hear him were rolling their eyes, but I thought his bragging was cute.

“You did a wonderful job.” Saint smiled at the praise, but unfortunately, I could only see that because he shifted me around to rinse me off. “And you take very good care of me.”

And based on the way he was focused on me, I had a feeling he wasn’t done taking care of me yet.

Chapter 11

Colby

I should’ve realized aliens who didn’t sleep much would be morning people.

“Groaning is usually a human indication of pain.” Saint picked up the pillow I was hiding under and leaned down to put his face right against mine. “Please communicate the problem area or I must notify the human helper.”

I was pretty sure he was using that as an empty threat…but not sure enough to take a chance. Teasing him about it seemed like a reasonable plan, though. “I think you’re being sneaky.”

He tried to shrug and look confused, but he needed to work on his acting human skills. “I have no knowledge of sneaky in this context.”

Bullshit.

He made me smile, though, and that signaled a clear win for the alien Dom. “You are not considered a morning person, my Colby.”

Picking me up before I could even nod, he moved me to his lap and wrapped me in his arms. “He is fine. He is just what humans consider dramatic.”
