Max was calm, way too calm. Before taking a seat, he sipped at his whiskey as if he didn’t have a care in the world.

“I think we need to discuss terms,” Max said.

“This is not a one-off sharing, Max. If we go for this, I want it to be full term. She’s the one. I know it.”

Max nodded. His fingers clasped the rim of his glass. The tip of his index finger tapped against the edge.

“She is the one, but what we don’t want to do is scare her away.”

“No. That is not the end goal.”

“Then we need to deal with the facts that we know. The con of this situation is that Raine works for us. She’s our nanny, which puts us in an awkward position,” Max said.

“Lake has this party thing to go to. It’s not that far off.”

“Raine was telling me about it.”

“I think that would be our perfect opportunity,” Dylan said. “Lake would be out of the house. Raine wouldn’t be our employee. The lines would be down. We could … plan something,” Dylan said.

Max leaned forward, placing his glass on the table.

Dylan recognized his tell, and it got him excited. With Max wanting Raine, it was only a matter of time before he finally got her in his arms, and this craving hadn’t gone away.

Raine wasn’t going to be some quick fuck for them to enjoy. No, he saw … a future with her.

“I will talk to Lake. This will work, providing she wants to go to the party. It’s a sleepover after all, and she’s still new to everything around here.”

“But she is settling in.”

“I know you want this badly, Dylan, as do I, but we have to take this slow to make it work.”

Dylan sat back, arms folded, pissed off.

“Haven’t you ever been told about being patient?” Max asked.

“You try being patient with temptation so close.” He sounded like a whiny child.

“I do live with it. Every single day. Just focus on the end goal. Raine belonging to us, pregnant with our child, and let the cogs fall where they need to.” Max picked up his glass of whiskey. “Until the party, there’s nothing to stop either of us initiating some … personal space.”

“You do realize some days you seem like a robot?” Dylan asked.

“It’s a gift.” Max threw back the rest of his whiskey. “With that, we’ve got a long day tomorrow. I’m heading to bed.”

Dylan gave his friend a wave. He couldn’t go to bed just yet.

Sitting back, he sipped at the whiskey and just put the glass down on the coffee table. The scent of whiskey never did it for him. He always felt like it tasted off. Max had a real penchant for the good stuff.

During negotiations, it had helped, but Dylan liked a good brandy. He didn’t bother to go and pour himself a glass for himself. He closed his eyes and instantly saw Raine’s face behind his eyes.

The woman was torturing him even in exhaustion.

Dylan wasn’t used to feeling this way about anyone. Never in all his life had he been so hungry for a woman, so desperate.

The hardness of his cock hadn’t gone away. With his eyes still closed, he reached into his pants and squeezed the length. “Down boy,” he said.

As if to mock him, his dick got harder as he thought about Raine’s pouty lips wrapped around the length of him. Those big brown eyes staring up at him, the glisten of tears shining right back at him as he slowly fed her his dick, hitting the back of her throat. She wouldn’t know whether to gag or swallow, but being the good girl that she was, she’d let him in. Her hands on his ass, holding him tight, begging for him to fuck her face, to stake his claim over her body.

Raine had fire in her blood. Her body needed possessing.

Dylan knew it.

He felt it.

The passion had been left untouched for far too long. Whoever had been with her before didn’t know the true gem that awaited them in the bedroom.

Dylan was no such fool.

Raine rarely had any trouble sleeping.

Running around completing errands, cleaning, doing odd jobs and tasks, she was often exhausted, and so sleep always came easy to her.

Not tonight. Nope, this night was different for some odd reason. There was no chance of getting any sleep.

She lay in her bed, tossing and turning, trying to think of her latest project, counting sheep, doing anything she could to help her drop off into the land of nod.

Nothing.

After thirty minutes had passed, she threw the covers off her body and went to her door. She opened it, paying attention to any potential sounds of Dylan, Max, or Lake.

None.

She closed her door and started downstairs, taking the steps one a time and being careful not to use any space where there was a creaky one.
