“Trinity!” Gage called out my name, and I jerked my gaze off Huck to meet Gage’s smile. I tried to return it with one of my own, but it was a struggle. “We got pizza. You hungry?”

Not anymore.

“Sorry you had to order pizza,” I told him, feeling my face get hot. “I promise to make it up to you at breakfast.”

Gage’s grin grew. “Deal. My favorite meal of the day.” He glanced back at Huck, who was watching the television and taking the cigar from his lips.

When he swung his gaze back to me, I could see the pity in his eyes.

“Come sit.” He patted the spot beside him. “You’ve got a choice of meat lovers, cheeseburger, buffalo chicken, or pepperoni.”

I looked from him to Huck again, who was still watching the television. I wasn’t going to be able to eat, but if I walked out of here, all three of them would know why. Huck would know I had thought what we had done meant something. They would all know that I had misunderstood. My pride wasn’t going to let me do that. I had to face these men every day.

I walked over to the sofa and sat down beside Gage. Not close enough to touch, but beside him. He had been the one to invite me to sit. No one else had asked. Levi was eating a piece of pizza, but I could feel him watching me. He hadn’t said anything.

“What’s it gonna be?” Gage asked me.

I was almost positive if I tried to eat something, I would throw up. I shook my head. “I’m not hungry.”

He frowned at me. “You sure?”

I forced a smile. “Positive. I might have some later.”

Gage seemed appeased by that, and he leaned back on the sofa with another piece he’d taken from a box in his hand. I started to look at the television, but Huck’s eyes stopped me. They were locked on me, and there was a scowl between his eyes. Unsure of what I’d done to deserve it, I turned my attention to the television.

“You like basketball, Trinity?” Levi asked me.

I shrugged. “I honestly don’t know. I don’t think I’ve ever watched an entire game.”

Levi took a bite of pizza, winked at me, then turned his attention back to the television.

Gage had invited me to sit by him, and Levi had winked at me. A sick feeling began to settle in my stomach. Did the fact that I’d had sex with Huck now mean they expected me to have sex with them? They shared women. Was that why they were being so friendly? They were normally nice, but they didn’t bring me into their space like this. What was happening now was definitely new. I liked Gage and Levi, but I didn’t want to have sex with them. I wasn’t attracted to them in that way. Huck held that position. The thought made me flinch. I’d opened my legs for the man every time he asked. He always walked away. Why had I expected him to be different this time? Because we’d had sex? Because of the conversation in the car?

“I’m going to get some water,” I said, standing up. “Can I get anyone something?”

Levi held up his beer bottle. “A new one? Please?”

“Same,” Gage added.

I turned to look at Huck, and he shook his head, then put the cigar back between his lips.

Trying not to run out of the room, I focused on keeping myself calm. No one was going to force themselves on me. Gage and Levi wouldn’t do that. I would handle this like an adult. Tell them no if it came up. This would be fine.

I walked over to the fridge and pulled out two beers like the one Levi had shown me. There were three different kinds in this fridge. I realized I needed to make a grocery list. We were low on several items. Closing the door, I turned and almost dropped the beers when Huck’s chest was blocking me.

I looked up at him, and he reached for the beers in my hand and set them on the counter. I watched him, unsure of what this was about. Were we going to talk about it? Somehow, I doubted that.

“You come on my dick, then go sit beside Gage?”

Was he seriously upset about that?

“You barely acknowledged me. Gage invited me to come in and have pizza.”

“I acknowledged you. What did you expect from me? We fucked.”

That stung. I wasn’t going to let him know it.

I placed a hand on my hip and straightened my shoulders. “I didn’t say I expected anything from you. I said you didn’t seem interested in my presence, and Gage was.”

Huck took a step closer to me, and I took a step back. We did this until my back was pressed against the fridge. He placed a hand on either side of my head, caging me in.
