“What the fuck?” Kegan growls.

“You’re the worst. Why can’t you stay out of people’s shit?”

“If I wasn’t always in people’s shit, you’d still be married to that—”

“Shut up, Kegan,” my brothers and I say at the same time.

Dwayne storms off with his fists balled at his sides. His ex-wife is still a sore topic for him. It’s worse now that they’re in a battle for custody.

“It’s not like I’m not telling the truth.”

“Yeah, Kegan. We know you are. That’s the problem,” Prince says.

“You guys ready to eat?” Saga sings as she walks into the kitchen with the platter of steaks I left out on the grill.

Thank God for my wife. I forgot all about those. I go to take the platter from her and peck her lips.

“I love you,” I say against her lips.

“I love you more,” she breathes. “What were you guys talking about?”

I groan and go to place the platter down, then go to grabs some plates. Saga gets the sides from the warmer and moves them to the island as well. With a smile on her face, she looks around the room at everyone.

“What? Was it guy talk? Should I step out?” she asks.

“We were talking about Knight and your sister. We think they’re hooking up,” Kegan blurts out.

I glare at him wanting to hit him as much as Dwayne does. He can never keep his big mouth shut but hates for us to pry into his shit. One of these days it’s going to be his turn.

Saga turns to me and glares. I throw my hands up, I haven’t shared a thing we’ve talked about in private. If Reminisce is in love with Knight like she told Saga, I know I’m right.

It will all work itself out. None of us need to get in the middle. Besides, I would never tell something my wife has told in confidence.

“I’ve said nothing,” I mouth to her. Then I say to everyone else. “They’re two adults. Whatever they’re doing is their business.”

“I’m just saying. It looks like I’ll get one more use out of that tux I bought for your wedding,” Kegan says.

“You think it’s that serious?” Prince asks.

“Dude, come on. Do you have eyes? I’d put money on it,” Kegan says incredulously.

“Good, I have a thousand just to shut you the fuck up,” Dwayne says as he returns.

“Oh, I want in on this. He’s totally going to get a ring on her finger before Saga’s pregnant again,” Lord chimes in.

“You guys have a bet going on when I’ll get pregnant again?” Saga says with a scowl.

I wince. If only my brothers knew. This is a sore topic for us.

I don’t think either of us can find humor in this as we normally would. Before I can say anything about it, Prince walks over and wraps his arm around her shoulders.

“Relax, sis. We love being uncles. We’re looking forward to the next one.”

“You could always find someone and have your own kids,” Saga says, still not looking or sounding amused.

“Listen to the words coming out of my mouth. I said we love being uncles. I said nothing about having my own. Keyword, uncle. Don’t make me take back liking you,” he teases.

Saga giggles and nudges him with her elbow. Some of the tension leaves my body to hear her laugh.

“Get out of here. I have two grand on you being a father before I’m pregnant again,” she says through her laughter.

God, I love this woman. I respect her more each day. She puts a brave face on for the world, but when we’re alone, I get to be the shoulder she needs so she can handle moments like this.

“You’re on,” Prince says.

Saga

I sit on the edge of the bed rubbing lotion into my skin. Today was fun. I enjoyed the game, and dinner was nice. My brothers-in-law can be very entertaining.

I miss the boys, but it’s nice to have a weekend for some adult time. Bishop and I can really use it. Life has been so busy these days.

He comes out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. I look up into his eyes and see the heat in his gaze. I already know what’s on his mind. However, we need to talk first.

“Tell me the truth. Did you tell them what I told you about Rem and Knight?”

He comes to stand before me and palms the side of my face. “You already know I didn’t. Whatever we say in here is between us. I mean, come on. Did you not see them today.

“Anyone could pick up on what’s going on between them. They’re the only ones in denial. I give it a month, and they’ll be together. If not sooner.”

“I don’t think you’re wrong on that one. Rem just needs to allow herself to be happy.”

“Enough about them. I want to spend time with my wife and remind her I’m still so in love with her. Come here, Saga. Let me worship you.”
