I loved looking down at her beautiful face. I especially loved looking into her big, soft eyes. And as always, I got distracted by her lips. I dipped my head again, kissing her long, slow, and deep. My body was giving me crazy ideas. That I should take her to bed, for starters. What I should do with her when we were there, in greater detail. Oh, I had about a billion dirty things I wanted to try out with her. But first, I wanted to make her mine. To make love to her slow, soft, and sweet.

Well, mostly sweet. But soft was probably the wrong word. I sighed as I lifted my head, brushing my thumb across her swollen bottom lip.

The sultry look on her face made me realize she might want the same thing I did. It was time. I felt it in my gut. And I wasn’t the sort to be shy about taking what I wanted.

“I want to be alone with you, Sunshine. Can I take you back to my place?”

She nodded shyly.

“Alright.”

“You know what I am asking, right?” I pressed, wanting to be sure. “I want to be with you.”

“Yes. I understand,” she said, looking shy and brave all at the same time. “I want the same thing.”

I scooped her up with a whoop and carried her back to my bike at a fast clip. She was giggling at how fast I moved. I put a helmet on her, securing it carefully under her pretty little chin. I put on my helmet too. That was something I had just started doing on the regular. My safety mattered for the first time in my life. I cared about tomorrow. I cared about spending the rest of my life with her. I resisted the urge to ride like the devil. After all, I had precious cargo on board. The most precious cargo I could imagine.

But I couldn’t stop myself from driving just a little bit fast.

My woman was going to let me touch her. She had forgiven me. And I was finally going to make her mine.

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Dana

The motorcycle roared as it sped along the tree lined old country roads, hugging each curve. Drake rode so smoothly, it was like he was part of the machine beneath us. The engine rumbling as the wheels seemed to literally eat up the road.

I held on for dear life. The man in front of me was so broad that I couldn’t hold onto his shoulders securely. I had to wrap my arms around his waist. He was built like a triangle, wide on top and then tapering down to a trim middle, with thick, muscular legs below.

It was almost a caricature of the ideal male form. He was that perfect. It boggled the mind.

He was gorgeous from head to toe. And I was going to see him, for real, in the buff, as soon as we got to his apartment. A very brave part of me couldn’t wait.

The rest of me was nervous. But I was excited, too. I loved the way he kissed me and held me. I was pretty sure I would like the rest of it, too.

I just hoped I wasn’t a disappointment. I wasn’t very experienced. And to say I was out of practice was a massive understatement, to say the least.

But I wouldn’t worry about that. I couldn’t. I did my best to relax as he parked and removed my helmet and then his own, securing them in the compartment at the back of the motorcycle. He smiled at me and took my hand, leading me into the apartment building at the edge of town.

He walked extremely fast. I trotted to keep up as we entered the building. He kissed me in the elevator, and then hustled me down the hallway to his apartment.

“It’s not much, but it’s clean,” he said, looking a little worried. “I cleaned it for you. I want to do everything for you, Sunshine.”

I just smiled. I loved that he was always trying to please me. It made me feel so good. It was clear that he cared about me. He wanted me to be safe and happy. He wanted to impress me.

I wanted to impress him too… I tried not to think about it. I wanted to be in the moment. I wanted to savor every second we had together.

He took both my hands, kissing the back of them and then wrapping them around his waist.

“I like having your arms around me when I ride. But this is even better,” he said, his voice low. And then he was kissing me. We’d kissed plenty over the past few weeks, but this time was different.

This time we were alone. And there was a couch nearby. And a bed.

I swallowed, my nerves crashing down on me. Right around the time I felt his body harden against my belly. I looked up at him, my eyes wide at the enormous size of it.
