And, yep, he was blushing. “She’s getting a lot better and the mat did keep her from injuring herself.”
Both Salem and Alexei kept fussing over her as they led her inside. But as they turned away, she looked back at him and mouthed the words, thank you.
Which kind of made everything worth it.

“Where are we going?” she asked as Salem led her into the house. He’d taken off her roller skates.
Too bad.
She’d been having a fun time.
“I want to have a bit of Sir and Pet time with you,” he explained. “Not a long session, but I have some afternoon tea for you. Would that be okay?”
“Oh. Okay.”
He led her into his office and she glanced around. She really liked this room with its dark leather sofa in front of the fireplace and oversized wooden desk. There were bookshelves behind the desk.
They stopped by the desk. Where was the food?
He took hold of her hands and squeezed them. “Listen to me, Pet.”
“Yes, Sir?”
“What is your safeword?”
Oh. Had he forgotten?
“Red.”
“Good girl. I want you to say it at any time if you need to, all right?”
“Uh-huh.” What was he planning?
“I want to work on our trust and communication and I have an idea.” He drew an eye mask from his pocket.
Her breath caught.
“I’m only going to use this,” he explained. “No bondage. Nothing else. Just the eye mask. But you will need to listen to me for instructions. Understand? And trust that I won’t lead you wrong. Okay?”
“A-all right.” Now, she was nervous.
He moved behind her and put the eye mask on. Her heart rate increased and she had to fight the urge to pull it back.
“Such a good Pet. Can you see anything?”
“No, Sir.”
He took hold of her hand and she clung on.
“You’re doing so well,” he soothed. “I’m going to hold your hand and lead you to the sofa.”
It took all of her control to let him walk her to the sofa. This was so much harder than she’d expected. By the time he stopped, she was breathing heavily.
“I’ve put a cushion on the floor, Pet. If you kneel, you’ll land on it. I’m going to hold your hands to keep you steady.”
You can do this.
What’s the worst that could happen?
“Good girl. I’m so impressed with how well you are doing.”
She wasn’t sure why. She hadn’t really done anything, but still, that was nice to hear.
She held both of his hands as he helped lower her to her knees onto the cushion.
“Well done. Now, right in front of you is the coffee table. I am not going to tie your hands, but I want you to keep them on top of your thighs unless you feel off-balance. Understand?”
“Yes, Sir.”
“That’s my good pet. Open your mouth.”
Oh God.
What was he going to give her? She was almost too scared to open her mouth. But that was nuts.
She had to trust in him.
Then, to her shock, something creamy and sweet hit her tongue.
Chocolate.
She loved chocolate!
“How was that, Pet?”
“So yummy!”
“That was a reward for being so obedient. Have you ever had a scene go bad when you were blindfolded?”
She shook her head.
“Words, Pet,” he warned.
“Uh, no, I haven’t.”
“So is there a reason you don’t like the idea of being fully bound? Or bound and blindfolded?”
She shrugged. She wasn’t answering that.
“Open your mouth again.”
She eagerly opened it and something gross was put in her mouth. “Yuck!”
“No spitting it out. Swallow.”
“What was that? And why?” she cried.
“You were warned to use your words. If you don’t want to answer something, say that you don’t want to answer. And it was lettuce. Not really that bad.”
Said him.
“What is your favorite color?” he asked.
“Green!”
The questions kept coming. When she was good and answered him, she got chocolate and bits of a cinnamon bun. When she didn’t want to answer, she got fruit. Still good. And when she was naughty and forgot to use her words, he gave her lettuce and raw cauliflower.
“How are your knees, Pet?”
“They’re okay, Sir,” she replied. Although now that he mentioned it, they were getting a bit sore.
“I think they’re probably sore. I’m going to hold your hands and pull you up.”
He stood her up on her feet and she swayed, feeling disorientated.
“Easy, Pet. Lean on me. Nice, deep breaths.”
She leaned against him and he rubbed his hand up and down her back.
“Good girl. You’re doing such a good job. I want you to take two steps to your right. Now, stop.”
Okay, she was getting nervous again.
“Now, one step forward and turn ninety degrees toward your left. That’s it. Now, sit back.”
Shit.
This was definitely pushing her. If she sat and there was nothing behind her, she’d be in pain.
But this is Salem.
He’s not a sadistic bastard trying to harm you.
So she took a leap of faith and sat, only to land on the sofa. A sigh of relief escaped her.
