But even with that faux pas, he still didn’t take pity on her, his fingers actually thrusting faster and harder until she was gripping the edge of the table, biting her lip hard as she came.

In her wedding reception.

With hundreds of people in the same room with her.

When it was over, he calmly pulled his fingers out and uncurled his arm from her waist. And to her appalled fascination, he actually licked his fingers clean, in front of everyone.

“Kyr!” She didn’t know what she wanted to do first – kill him or herself.

“Relax, psaraki. They’ll only think I enjoyed our dessert so much.”

But he was wrong.

When they woke up late in the afternoon the next day, Kyr having made love to his bride the entire night, the first thing that greeted them was the viral image of the billionaire, uncurling his arm from her waist, hand emerging from under the table, before he started licking his fingers.

All this, in a slow-motion loop, with a telling caption: No plates on the table, dessert done half a minute ago. We wonder what’s put that cat-ate-the-cream look on Kyrillos Gazis’ face? Something come...ly maybe?

“Oh God, Kyr!”

But her husband for one day only laughed, pulling her back to bed and making love to her again.

Chapter Two

Three months had passed since their wedding, and there were times when Kyr would wake up in the middle of night, see his wife curled next to him in innocent slumber, and he would wonder to himself how his life had ended up like this.

Had he done the right thing, marrying her?

But then his wife would somehow sense every time he had these doubts, either sleepily reaching for him or stirring to consciousness, and even when she was groggy, she would have those stars in her eyes—-

That look that said she would never leave him, like the other woman had.

And Kyr would be saved by the look.

Things changed, however, on one December night, with Kyr humoring his wife on her insistence that they personally decorate the Christmas tree in his home, a task that he used to relegate to his staff in the previous years.

Bending down to hang a Christmas ball on the lower branches, he found a rectangular, silver-shaped box under the tree, with his name on the card.

He straightened, box in his hand, and he looked at his wife wryly. “You succeeded in surprising me.”

She giggled. “You haven’t seen anything yet.”

At her insistence, he unwrapped her gift, expecting a watch or a pen, but instead he found something else entirely.

A pregnant kit, and it was positive.

Kyr’s eyes were stunned when they met Pollyanna’s.

“We’re having a baby?” he whispered hoarsely.

Her heart nearly stopped beating, and she gulped, whispering back, “Yes?” Would he be pleased? Would he think it was too soon? Would he—-

Her husband suddenly hauled her to him, and her eyes closed in sheer relief as his arms closed about her tightly.

Oh.

Fingers curling against the silk of his shirt, she asked shakily, “You’re happy?”

Kyr’s arms tightened around her, and her eyes stung when she felt his lips graze the top of her head. And when she heard him say with quiet sincerity, “More than I thought possible,” she realized that it was possible for hearts to actually threaten to break because of too much happiness.

Squeezing her eyes shut, she hugged her husband tightly, praying, Dear Lord, let it be like this.

And then there was no time to think, Kyr sweeping her up in his arms and carrying her to their bedroom. Laying her on their vast bed, he was noticeably more gentle than usual as he undressed her, and after taking off his own clothes, he joined her in bed, his lips almost reverent as he kissed every inch of her.

When he took her, he was almost painfully slow and achingly tender, and she couldn’t help stop her eyes from stinging again. He loved her so much, Pollyanna thought, and it was humbling. It didn’t matter if he never said the words and probably never would. Some men just didn’t express themselves that way, and that was okay. What mattered was how Kyr showed his love for her in other ways.

Her eyes drifting shut, she surrendered herself to her husband’s passion, her cries filling the room when her pleasure reached its peak. Above her, she felt her husband’s powerful body shudder, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, wanting him as close to her possible. He came inside her, and the feeling of his seed filling her up made Pollyanna tremble anew. No matter how many times they made love, she didn’t think she’d ever stop feeling so blown away by how good it felt, knowing that she had made him come.

When he was able to move, he moved to his side, leaning his weight on one elbow while placing his hand carefully on her womb.
