Adam had heard that his whole life, and not only in this context. It was true, either way.

Wes pushed his shirt up slowly, kissing the skin he revealed, until the shirt was around Adam’s neck. Then he began to torment his nipples so exquisitely that Adam wondered if he could come from it. But each time he felt the pleasure begin to crest, Wes would switch sides.

Adam was desperate for more and he pulled Wes down on top of him. Wes devoured his mouth and settled into the space between Adam’s legs. When their erections came into contact they both gasped.

Breathing each other’s exhalations, they slowly began to move. Above him, Wes was fire and steel and laser-focused attention, and Adam threw his head back, overwhelmed by the magnitude of his want.

He didn’t even realize he was begging until Wes said, “Okay.”

Wes rolled Adam’s hips up and ground them together, hard and slow. Adam shuddered as waves of pleasure tore at him. He cried out and Wes swallowed his cry along with his kiss.

Then it was a frenzy. Wes held him and thrust their hips together with perfect force. Adam tossed his head on the pillow helplessly.

“Need you, please,” he begged, straining upward.

Wes bore down on him, chest rubbing over his sensitive nipples, and ground against him so perfectly Adam saw stars. The seam of Wes’ jeans was catching the spot just beneath the head of his cock that always made him come ribbons, and he threw his head back and let Wes have him.

Wes’ thrusts got harder and faster, then just as Adam thought he’d lose it, Wes backed off, leaving Adam panting and desperate.

When he thought he couldn’t take it anymore, Wes cupped his cheek and said, “You’re so beautiful.”

Then he swiveled his hips, twisting and grinding down in a movement that sent sparks shooting up Adam’s spine.

“Again,” Adam begged.

Wes did it again and again until Adam was a sobbing mess. Only then did Wes kiss his wet cheeks, slide his hands under Adam’s ass to lift him up, and press them together perfectly.

The pressure built and built until Adam thought he would scream, then he was coming in wracking waves of pleasure that tore sounds from his throat he didn’t recognize.

Just as it began to ebb, Wes pinched his nipple and roared his own orgasm, and Adam tumbled back into pleasure.

The aftershocks left him twitching and gasping on the bed, and when Wes collapsed on top of him, kissing his neck softly, he moaned at the ghosts of pleasure.

“Oh my god, Wes,” Adam groaned.

He looked over at Wes and saw tenderness in his eyes. A soft connectedness that he’d never seen before.

Wes smiled at him and began to say something, when a yell shattered the silence.

“Daddy! Daddy!”

Chapter Ten

Adam

It had only been a nightmare, but Gus’ cries had been enough to disrupt the mood. When Adam got back to bed, Wes was fully clothed and standing at the window, looking out at the moon. Or his own house. Adam couldn’t be sure.

“Hey,” he said, uncertain of his reception. He imagined the shrieks of an eight-year-old weren’t everyone’s postcoital cup of tea.

“I should get home,” Wes said, confirming his suspicions.

“Sure.”

Adam tucked his hair behind his ears and walked out into the living room, looking for Wes’ shoes.

“Sorry,” Adam offered miserably when Wes stood at the door.

“For what?” Wes seemed genuinely puzzled.

“For...Gus? Interrupting?”

Wes shrugged and shook his head.

“Nightmares suck,” was all he said. Then he stepped out into the night.

Adam had nothing to say to that, so he watched Wes give him a wave, then walk away home.

“We need more, Daddy,” Gus lamented, looking up at the house.

Adam thought the Christmas lights they had so far looked good, but he couldn’t deny they were still sparse.

“Well, it is Saturday morning,” Adam said, waggling his eyebrows.

“Oh, nooo,” Gus groaned.

“Come on, it’ll be great! There’re sure to be lights.”

“Okay, but we need a time limit.” Gus tapped the black rubber watch she’d worn since before she was old enough to know what time was.

“Aw, you can’t put a time limit on treasure hunting,” Adam said, but he winked at her. “Fine, thirty minutes per stop.”

Gus narrowed eyes the same blue as his own.

“Twenty,” she offered.

“Deal.”

Adam stuck out his hand and they shook on it.

“I’ll grab snacks, you get dressed.”

Estate sales were one of Adam’s favorite things in the whole world. Mason had tolerated them but didn’t have the same enthusiasm Adam did. Gus liked to pretend that it was torture to be dragged along, but Adam knew the truth.

She loved picking through the tangle of trash and treasure the same as he did. It was how she’d gotten her explorer jacket and her beekeeping hat, not to mention all her best wooden blocks and a trash can for her room that had a beetle hand-painted on it.
