He loved the way her fingers raked through his hair, tugging at the strands as she released a melody of moans that fired his passion.
Damn, but he wanted to slip into her, though not before he tasted her. He buried his face between her legs, brushing her tender nub with his tongue before slipping it inside her and he thought he would climax, her taste was so intoxicating.
It was not long before he heard her plead.
“Please, Cavell! Please!” she begged.
His name falling eagerly from her lips gave a strange tug to his heart, something he had never felt before with any woman.
He couldn’t wait any longer. He slipped eagerly over her and ordered, “Spread your legs wide for me, Sara.”
She did as he said, her hands latching onto his arms.
He maneuvered the tip of his shaft to her entrance, her wetness inviting and enticing him, and he did not hesitate, he plunged into her swiftly.
She gasped and her fingers dug at his arms, then she let loose with a series of passion-filled moans that he enjoyed hearing and that intensified as he drove in and out of her.
He had gone too long without a woman or was it that he had never coupled with the right woman that had him so eager to climax? Feeling how she met his rhythm so easily and eagerly, he did not think she would last long either.
He was right. She cried out as her release hit her and it was all he needed to let go and burst inside her in a mind-shattering release that seemed to go on forever. He did not know when her arms had slipped around him, but he liked how she hugged him with a strength that made him feel her reluctance to let him go, and he lingered a bit before he slipped out and off her.
He was surprised and pleased when she said, “I did not touch you enough.”
“We have the entire night. There will be time for you to touch me more.”
“I look forward to it.”
“So do I,” he said and wished he could keep this woman for himself, but Curdie said she had family, which meant she was not free, but then neither was he.
Cavell woke to her caressing his shaft. He had thought it was a dream and was glad to discover it wasn’t. She was quite enjoying herself and in turn so was he. She peppered his chest with kisses working her way down to his belly as her hand took a firmer hold of his shaft and began to pump it. He feared if her lips touched his shaft, it would be over, and he not only wanted her to share in the pleasure, but he was also eager to bury his shaft inside her once again. He grabbed her beneath her arms, swung her up and under him and entered her hard and fast.
Her cry of pleasure drove him harder into her over and over and over again, and it wasn’t long before they both released in a blinding climax.
Sleep claimed them soon after and Cavell was surprised when he woke later, his shaft eager to give her another poke. He woke her gently with kisses and entered her just as gently though she soon demanded more from him, and he obliged her. Once again, they found release together and once again they fell asleep, this time in each other’s arms.
As sleep claimed Cavell, a sudden, shocking thought came to him.
I could love this woman.
Nay. That was impossible. They had enjoyed each other out of desperation, and he was grateful to have had the night with her and that was all there was to it. Still, the thought would not leave him, and he fell asleep denying it to himself over and over again.
CHAPTER 3
Cavell stretched himself awake, his body feeling anew, better than it ever had, and he turned eager to finally look upon the woman he had found such pleasure with last night. He bolted up when he saw he was alone in bed and hurried a glance around the room.
She stood by the burning-bright hearth that cast good light on the room. She was fully dressed, her back to him, her long, light brown hair lay straight to the middle of her back, and he recalled how soft it had felt to the touch just as her body had felt, soft and inviting.
Sara. He let her name linger in his mind but wouldn’t let it pass his lips. Last night the darkness let them couple without thought of anything but the magic they had created. Today, however, the light would reveal the truth, and he worried how she would react to his scars.
It took more courage for him to speak her name than it would have for him to ride into battle. “Sara.”
