I snorted a laugh. Well, if we could go by their ages to determine how long I lived, we were good.

“But anyway.” He got back on track again. “Loving you two is not just about loving you as men. It’s about loving and protecting your personal relationship. That’s what I’ve come to realize. Cuz when you think about it, you wouldn’t be you without the, um, you know, like, your journey together. That’s what I’m saying. We wouldn’t have what we have today if you and Daddy hadn’t spent those nine years together first. It’s the exact same thing with our age difference, when you think about it. I can’t be drawn to older men and their experience if I’m trying to wipe that away and be like, okay, the three of us are together now, so let’s start over and forget that you already have a lot of history together. That history is the whole point.”

I…had nothing. I was damn near stunned. Not necessarily surprised, because I’d quickly come to learn Kit was equal parts young and naïve, and wiser than his years. More than that, what he’d just told us was something he’d started showing us early on. Unlike a couple previous subs Luke and I had failed spectacularly with, Kit wasn’t trying to be the center of our universe. He wasn’t trying to come between us. That boy could be just as protective of us as we were of him.

“I don’t know what we’d do without you anymore.” Luke enveloped Kit in a tight hug and let out a breath. “You’ve come so far too, Kit.”

He truly fucking had. The insecurities he’d had in the beginning, the self-doubt and the low self-esteem—he’d worked hard to erase most of them. Not many men as young as he was could say the same.

“Duh! Because you make all the difference,” Kit said like it was obvious. “You make me want to fight.”

And that was where it was at, wasn’t it?

I rounded the island to get in on that hug, and I squeezed them both to me. “We’re damn proud of you.”

“Are you damn engaged to be married also?”

I rumbled a laugh and peppered his face with kisses. “We’ll think about it.”

He huffed and pushed my cheeks together.

“Am I cute now?” I asked.

He nodded with a grin. “You look like a brat!”

I chuckled and backed away. “One brat in this house is enough.”

“So when are you moving out?” Luke asked.

Hateful. “Real nice—”

“Oh! One thing, one thing, one thing,” Kit said urgently. All of a sudden, he was fidgety and nowhere near as confident as before. “Can you maybe not be gone on your honeymoon for too long? ’Cause I will miss you.”

Jesus Christ. I was just about to open my mouth when Luke beat me to it.

“First of all, we haven’t decided anything,” he told Kit. “Second of all, you’re out of your mind if you think we’d leave on a honeymoon without you.”

“Damn right.” I nodded firmly. “We’re a family, Kit. We travel together. It’s one thing if we spend the night separately whenever one of us is working late—like you and I have stayed at the cabin a couple times when Luke couldn’t get off from work.”

“Or when you and I stayed there when Colt was at Langley,” Luke added. “But there is no way I’m going on a vacation without either of you.”

The relief in Kit’s eyes allowed me to relax too, and he leaned against Luke. “Okay. I like that.”

Good. That was settled.

“So itchy!” Kit tried to squirm away from me and tuck the duvet in between us, but I was having none of it. He’d played an active part in having my chest fucking shaved for a bondage photo shoot the other week, so I reckoned he deserved to suffer the aftermath of feeling my hair grow back.

“What’d’ya expect, huh?” I growled playfully against his smooth stomach before I rolled on top of him and rubbed my chest over his.

“Oh noooo!” he laughed through a groan. “Daddy, save me! Lucas! Ugh!”

How convenient I heard the toilet flushing on the other side of the wall just then.

“I will bite your butt!” Kit threatened.

“How are you gonna reach it?” I nipped at his jaw. I had no issue reaching his butt, on the other hand. I just slipped a hand under him and groped all I wanted. “You probably don’t wanna get yourself into unnecessary trouble, considerin’ that’s all you’ll be doin’ tomorrow.”

Greer was bringing his brood over right after they’d dropped a few kids off at day care and school, and knowing Kit and Corey… There would be trouble.

“Will not!” he insisted. “We’re just gonna decorate Christmas cookies.”

I smirked and kissed him. “Right, and your Secret Santa game will just be about exchanging gifts too.”

He grinned like the little devil he was. “Well, yeah. What else would it be about?”
