I play with Bane some more and barely look up in time to catch the happy, now married couple, crashing together for an epic kiss. Yeah, we’re definitely going to do all this shit when it’s our time. Plus, Dad would lose his mind if I didn’t let him plan the ultimate wedding.

Gemma is giggling, buzzing on her third glass of wine, when I steal her away from her talkative family. I whisk my beautiful girl into Alexander’s office and we slip into our secret room undetected. Now that this place is ours, we have a lamp, better mattress, and everything we need to make our hideaway the perfect retreat. I stifle her laughs with my frantic kisses as we both strip down to nothing.

Despite having our own bed we now share together upstairs, we find our way into our secret room more often than not. Maybe one day, we’ll have kids who run around this place, but this will always be our little secret.

It doesn’t take long to get my tipsy woman primed and panting with need. I tease her needy clit even after she comes before kissing her deeply.

“I love you, Golden.”

She purrs, raking her nails through my hair and messing it up. “Prove it.”

I thrust hard, entering her fast and to the brim, smothering her cry with my mouth on hers. We fuck in desperation as per usual until I’ve come deeply inside her. After cleaning us both up, we spoon on the bed with her back to my chest and I inhale the sweet scent of her shampoo.

“I love you too, Two.”

“Hey, babe,” I murmur, running my nose along the curve of her shoulder.

“Hmm?”

“Let’s get married.” I kiss her soft skin and my heart races. “I’ll find you a vintage ring and we’ll make a crazy to-do list about the whole thing. What do you say?”

We’re too young.

We haven’t even been dating for a year.

We’re complete opposites and bicker a fuckton.

But we’re also stupidly in love.

“You really want to marry me?”

“Yup.”

“My parents are going to freak out. All their kids are getting married the same year.”

I snort. “I’m not waiting until next year, Mrs. Sheridan. Hell, I’m not sure I can wait until the end of summer.”

Gemma twists around to face me. The lamplight illuminates her gorgeous face and I can’t help but kiss her pert nose. “I accept, Mr. Sheridan. But only if you promise to write me gushy love letters for me to keep in our secret room.”

“Gushy love letters?” I smirk at it. “I rescind my marriage proposal.”

“Ugh, you’re so mean.”

I stroke a finger along her temple and grin. “The best I can offer is a dick pic.”

“I guess I’ll be a spinster my whole life,” she opines.

“Fine,” I concede with a mock groan. “I’ll write you stupid love letters if that’ll make you happy.”

Hell, I’d do anything to make her happy.

“Then you, sir,” she says, offering me her dainty hand, “have yourself a deal.”

I grab onto her hand, not to shake it, but to pull her on top of me. All conversation is lost as we consummate our new deal with nothing but our bodies.

This girl may have been the source of my inner torment for years, but I’m quickly learning she’s now a source of healing.

With Gemma, I’m better.

Together, we’re perfect.

Fuckin’ golden.
