Kai’s trembling fingers found Xiang’s hair and twisted in it, holding him in place. He lowered his gaze, his eyes now molten gold glittering in the candlelight. “Your sassy mouth was made for this.”

In response, Xiang shoved a third finger into Kai’s ass. This time, he located the dragon’s prostate. Kai’s cries echoed off the stone walls and high ceiling, his entire body stiffening and some cum spurted down Xiang’s throat. His sweet mate was on the edge of coming.

“Xiang! Too close! Too close!” Kai shouted.

Xiang tightened his grip on Kai’s hip and eased him back while slipping his fingers free of his hole. When Kai’s cock popped out of his mouth, he smiled. “You can ride my dick or fuck my face. It’s whatever you want, my love.”

Kai hesitated, chewing on his bottom lip, as if he couldn’t decide between the two tempting options. “Ride you,” Kai announced at last.

The dragon crawled along Xiang’s body, pausing to kiss him deeply. As the head of Xiang’s cock brushed against Kai’s hole, that wicked creature sat on him, taking him completely in one fast stroke that sucked all the air out of Xiang’s lungs while forcing a cry out of Kai.

The extreme heat and tightness melted Xiang’s brain. Nothing in the world should feel this perfect.

And then Kai moved.

Kai began slowly, each stroke a test of Xiang’s self-control, as Xiang watched his dick disappear into Kai’s welcoming body. He could get lost in that velvety hot channel, squeezing and massaging him, coaxing him closer to his release. But not yet. He wanted to feel Kai coming first.

Kai sped up, filling the cavern with the slap of damp flesh and broken pants. Kai leaned back, supporting himself on one hand between Xiang’s legs while he wrapped the other around his cock, frantically stroking his dick. Xiang thrust upward again and again, fucking Kai so hard.

A surprised shout broke from Kai’s throat, and those amazing muscles clamped on Xiang’s cock as he came. Xiang had no warning. His own orgasm broke free and scorched a path through him before soaring free with Kai’s. The world whited out as he came in Kai’s welcoming body.

When conscious thought returned, Kai was lying on top of him, his frantic breaths fanning his sweaty chest. He wrapped his arms about Kai’s waist and pressed kisses to the side of his head and hair, anything he could reach.

“I think we ruined some of your pillows,” Xiang teased.

The dragon grunted. “Magic. Clean. Later.”

Smiling, Xiang rested his cheek on Kai’s head, enjoying the chance to hold him like this while his gaze skimmed over the beautiful and rare items that surrounded them. It was surprising how good it felt to be in this place that had begun as a prison only to become a sanctuary.

Their start was rough, but fun memories of sparing, bickering, cooking, countless games of weiqi, and just cuddling on the cushions now filled this cave.

“Are you comfortable living with our clan?”

Kai’s head popped up, eyes wide and clear, as if he were stunned by the question. “It was an adjustment at first. It’s been many centuries since I spent so much time with humans, but your clan has made me feel welcome. They’ve reminded me of the things I have enjoyed. I am happy living with the Zhang clan.” He paused and shifted so he could press a kiss to the corner of Xiang’s mouth. “However, I do like spending time in my hoard. Especially time alone with you.”

Yes, he liked that too. “Mn. It’s our private space.”

And when this fight with the fae was done, he planned to spend a long time cuddling his dragon in the secret hideaway.

He prayed they’d all make it out of this battle alive.

Chapter 29

Kai

Sneaking through the fae stronghold was more difficult than Kai had expected, and it was all Rei’s fault because he’d declared it a no-magic zone. The elf was confident the fae lurking in the halls of the royal residence would be able to sense his presence if he used magic, giving away their only advantage—stealth.

It had been a long time since he’d last relied on his human skills. Even while holding Xiang captive, he would sneak in bits of magic here and there when the vampire hadn’t been paying attention.

Guilt twisted a tight, heavy knot in the pit of his stomach as he trailed behind his mate. Xiang was astounding to watch. Swathed in black, Xiang could disappear into the shadows in a heartbeat and move without making a sound. He was cold and merciless death, and Kai worried he was holding his mate back. Was Xiang moving so cautiously because he thought Kai couldn’t keep up?

As they reached the end of a corridor, Xiang shoved Kai into a dark niche and leaped upward. His right foot pressed to the wall, allowing him to push off and send his lithe frame sailing to the opposite wall. At that second, a guard turned into their hallway. Kai’s fingers tightened on the hilt of the blade he was holding, preparing to launch himself at the guard, but Xiang was already on the move. He came down behind the guard, his own blade slashing across his throat before the elf even knew what was happening.
