I squeeze her thighs in my palms and lean down to her ear. “Only for you,” I whisper.
She shivers. “That tickles.”
Leon rolls his eyes.
Vincent looks nothing short of murderous. “Liv, he’s a Taletti. He’s playing you. This is just some sick game to him. You know who he is. Who his father is.”
“I know exactly who he is.” She leans back, resting against my chest as she stares down her brothers.
Pride swells inside me. She’s in control. Even though her brothers are older, are stone-cold killers in their own right, she isn’t afraid of them. In fact, she talks to them with an air of authority.
“He’s with me. His last name doesn’t matter to me. Not anymore. So you two need to ask yourselves if it matters to you so much that you’ll hurt me to get to him.” Her voice drops lower. “Because I can promise you, I won’t let you lay a finger on him. You’ll have to go through me, and I’ll fight with everything I’ve got.”
Now my pride isn’t the only thing that’s swelling. Her strong words have my cock jutting against her ass. She wriggles a little, and I grab her hips to keep her still.
“Careful, princess,” I growl against her ear.
She giggles. “Seriously. We’re in love. He stole me to turn me over to his father, but he never did. I’ve been here the whole time. And I want to stay.”
“You realize what his father would do to you, right? He kidnapped you to hurt you in the worst ways possible.” Leon tsks.
“I know, but that never happened.”
My phone goes off, the alert sounding from the bedroom. It goes off again rapidly. Then again.
“You gonna get that?” Leon asks.
“It’s okay.” Olivia slides off my lap. “They won’t do anything. I just need to help them understand.”
Vincent’s eyes narrow.
“Right, Vin?” She elbows him.
Leon throws his hands up. “We won’t do anything. Just try to talk some sense into our sister.”
I rise. “If you so much as touch her—”
“They won’t.” She gets on her tiptoes and kisses me. “Go ahead.”
I don’t like leaving her with them, so I hurry down the hall, snatch my phone, and return to the living room. She’s sitting by Trash on the coffee table and talking low to Vincent. His face has softened just a bit. For her. That’s when I realize she must’ve had them wrapped around her finger from the day she was born. How could she not? She’s fucking adorable.
When I pull up my messages, my phone rings before I can read them. It’s Sal.
I answer. “What?”
“Where the fuck have you been?” he yells.
“Whoa!”
“Dad’s coming! We’re on the way right now with soldiers. I tried to hold him off, but he saw right through me. We’ll be there in an hour, tops. Get ready!” The call drops.
“What?” Olivia looks up at me. “What’s wrong?”
That’s when I realize I have to make a choice, and I have to make it fucking quick. There’s no stopping my father’s wrath, not now, but I can at least get her away from the eye of the storm. The problem is, I know her now. I know she won’t go. But I can’t let her stay here. I have to face the consequences of disobeying my father alone. I won’t let her get hurt.
“Go with them.” I back away a step.
“What?” She rises. “What do you mean?”
“Go. I mean it.” I cross my arms over my chest.
“But didn’t you just say …” Leon’s eyebrows draw together.
“I don’t want any Fernandino trash in my place. Take your shit and go. Now.”
“What’s wrong? Who was on the phone?” She gets to her feet. “Tell me. Please, Sergei.”
“He said for us to go. Come on, Liv.” Vincent stands and reaches for her elbow.
I want to lay him out, to knock his fucking teeth to the floor. But I don’t move. Not even when Olivia puts her hands on my forearms.
“Sergei?”
“I got what I wanted. Your virgin pussy.” I say the words, even though they burn, even though they’re lies. “Now you can go home to your father and tell him how much you loved it when a Taletti fucked you.”
Leon reaches for his pistol, but I’m faster. I grab mine from my waistband and point it at him.
“Take her and go.”
“Why are you doing this?” Her eyes water, tears rolling down her beautiful cheeks.
“I told you why,” I sneer.
“Let’s go. Now.” Vincent pulls her away while Leon keeps his gun trained on me.
“Sergei.” Her voice cracks on a sob, and a piece of my heart cracks right along with it.
“Get out!” I bellow.
Vincent pulls her away, dragging her through the secret door as Leon backs toward it, his pistol still pointed at my head.
He pauses, his gaze on mine. “He’s coming, isn’t he?” he asks quietly. “Your father?”
