We cruised in relaxed silence, and once inside, we went straight to bed.
His bed.
Where we stayed for the rest of the night.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
Charlie
“Oh, fuck!” My hips bucked as my cock spilled down Savannah’s throat as the shower rained down on us, barely lukewarm after forty minutes of water play.
“Okay. No more.”
Savannah stood smiling, ignoring the beat of the shower against her back. “You tapping out on me?”
I loved that her smile came so easily, and her smile was just for me. Since Sunday night at the park, she hadn’t left my bed. She hadn’t wanted to, and I didn’t want her to, so that was where she stayed. All night. Every night. I couldn’t get enough of her and she felt the same. It was crazy.
“I have to.”
Her lips pushed out into a fake pout as she poured body wash into her palm and washed my cock like I was some fucking king.
“That’s a compliment I’ll happily take,” she told me and shut off the water.
“I need to get to the clubhouse.” It was already Thursday, and I’d pushed back the Wednesday meeting because I couldn’t bring myself to leave her body, or our bed. There was so much fucking club business to discuss, and I couldn’t put it off any longer.
“Heavy is the head,” she said on a sigh and stepped out of the shower, disappointed but accepting as she wrapped a towel around her body, hiding those delicious curves that had finally filled all the way out. “You better get going,” she said and left me alone with my thoughts.
I dressed quickly and dropped a quick kiss on her mouth that promised more, later, and hauled ass to the clubhouse. I was the President now and just because I could do what I wanted; it didn’t feel right to just fuck off because I could.
I found Cross and Max first, standing out back smoking while they talked quietly. “Hey guys, what’s up?”
Cross flashed a knowing smile, and Max scowled at me. “Good of you to join us.”
“Been busy,” I said nonchalantly just as Jameson walked up to meet us. “What’s your problem?”
Cross barked out a laugh. “He’s just pissed that today is the day Jameson leaves for the police academy.” He clapped my brother on the back with a proud smile. “You ready to become The Man?”
Jameson flashed a proud smile. “I’ve always been the man, now it’ll be official. And I might be able to keep you motherfuckers out of jail.”
Shit, how did I forget that this was Jameson’s last day in town for weeks?
“Damn, this day came faster than I thought it would.”
We’d talked about it and I gave my brother my blessing to go off and do what he felt he needed to be happy and fulfilled and all that shit. Still, I wasn’t ready for him to go.
I punched his arm like we were kids again and said, “I can’t believe I’ll have to go weeks without looking at your ugly mug.”
He laughed and batted his eyelashes in my face. “Be grateful, you get to be the handsome one for the next ten weeks. Then I’ll be back and you’ll just be Prez.”
“Dick.” I said, enjoying these last few minutes before things changed. Again.
“The biggest.” Jameson stared at Dad and Cross and then at me. “You got a minute?”
“Yeah, for you, I got two.”
He produced an envelope and held it out to me. “This is what I could find on Mueller. There’s some shit not right with it, but I didn’t have time to dig deeper. He might use a false identity, but I’d check with Jag if you want more intel.”
“Thanks, man. Good luck down at the cop shop.”
Jameson flashed a familiar smile and pulled me in for a hug. “Good luck leading these fuckers. You’re gonna need it. I’m a call away if you need anything, brother. Anything.”
“That’s my line.”
“I’m younger and faster, deal with it.” He gave a nod and a wave to Dad and Cross, sliding behind the wheel of his new red two-door dad-mobile, and drove away for what felt like the last time.
I tucked the envelope away, along with uncomfortable thoughts about my brother leaving. Big boys didn’t cry, but they could sure feel like shit at times. I shoved that emotion away and went back to the older men who’d taught me everything I knew. But while I was out front with Jameson, something had changed. I checked the concern written all over Max first and then Cross. “What’s with the worried looks?”
“We found Gemma. And Aries.” Our girls who’d been missing for too long now. Cross wore a grim expression and instantly my attention focused in on every little detail. He wasn’t just worried, it shook him up.
“Gemma is dead. Beaten and raped, mouth split ear to ear. Aries is alive, but she’s in a coma. Jacks carved into her torso and legs.”
