“Maybe later tonight.”

“You’re right. I’m already late for work.” He swats my ass and pulls out. “Damn, that is sexy.”

“What is?”

“The sight of my cum just dripping down your pussy and making a pretty little mess.” He grabs his cock, trying to stave off a growing erection.

“Get ready, horny slacker. Not all of us can just take time off. I have homework to do and an appointment at the salon.”

“You don’t need to get anything done. You’re gorgeous as you are.”

“Don’t worry, I’m not dyeing my hair.”

“As much as I love your color, Raven, if you did dye it, I wouldn’t be upset. I support you in almost anything except another person in our relationship.”

“That we can totally agree on. Mr. Steele, you are mine and only mine,” I hiss, standing up and reaching up on my tiptoes to kiss his chin. “I’m going to miss you.”

“We have time to shower together.”

“No, we don’t.”

“We do if I say we do.”

“Your father is going to really hate me.”

“My father loves you. Now move your ass before I say that you debated getting in the shower with me and that was the holdup.”

“You wouldn’t.”

“I most certainly would, and he’d be on my side.” He winks and then quickly flips me onto his shoulder, hustling us into our master bathroom. With a giggle and then a spank to my bottom, I allow my soon-to-be husband to wash and lather me before going to work.

I stop into the salon, wanting to get my hair prepped for the wedding with a nice treatment and to cut the ends, and unfortunately that bitch is there. I stroll in with my future mother-in-law, holding my head up high. There’s no way I’ll be intimidated by this woman who tried to steal my man and failed miserably. Taking a seat in the chair, Maria smiles. “How does the bride-to-be feel?”

“Wonderful, but we still have a month to go. I just need a quick healing mask. Between the heat and the pool, my hair is getting a little damaged.”

“She’s still gorgeous.” I love my mother-in-law.

“Are you getting anything done today?”

“No, I’m just here to spoil my favorite daughter-in-law.”

“I’m your only one.” A scoff comes from the side, and we all turn our heads. Chrissy clears her throat and continues to sweep the floor.

“Since you’re not doing anything, can you mix a protein mask for me?” My face freezes in terror at the thought of her mixing anything for me. Mrs. Steele just taps my shoulder.

“Whatever. I’ll be back in a minute.” She leaves us, and then I see them point to the cameras above. They can see if she does anything, but they won’t be able to tell until it’s too freaking late.

“What if…?”

“Don’t worry.” Maria pats my hand before brushing my hair.

Mrs. Steele continues to talk about my wedding and the plans we have to make. Two minutes later, Chrissy comes from the back room with the mixture in a bowl and a brush. She hands it over to Maria, and the front door slams open. The deputy comes in with Boomer and my father.

“Ms. Heath, you’re fired, and you’ve just lost your license.”

“What?”

“We have you on camera putting lightener in the bowl.”

“What? You framed me.”

“No, you were supposed to do your job, and you tried violate a client. You have a choice—to be arrested, or just leave.”

“Fine, but I’m taking my things.” She huffs toward her station while the deputy stays with her, keeping a close eye on her in case she does something crazy. Luckily the bitch only gives us some scathing looks before taking her leave. I don’t know what happened after she left, but honestly, I’ve lost all enthusiasm about getting my hair done.

“What’s wrong, sweetie?” my father asks.

“I just want to go home.” I stand up and grab my purse.

“I’ll take you.” I see the remorse and pity in their eyes, but frankly, I just need to chill and not stress. It’s not their fault because it’s good to get rid of that crazy witch before she starts something when no one is around.

When I get home, Will pulls up and is out of his truck. “What are you doing here?” I ask.

“My father called.”

“And you came home from work?”

“Raven, I’ll always be there when you need me. I’ve got it from here,” he tells my father, taking my hand and walking me into our house.

I wave goodbye to my father and he drives off, looking a little annoyed. “He thinks you’ve taken his place.”

“In a way, I have. I’m now your main protector. They should have told you about what they had planned instead of ambushing you like that.”

“You knew?”

“No, of course I didn’t. I wanted to have the bitch fired for just offering herself to me, but it wasn’t my call.”

“Will, will you take me riding?”
